Title: Will Your Name Be There When the Call Is Made in Heaven?
Key Scripture
- “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” — Revelation 20:15
- “Rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” — Luke 10:20
- “He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.” — Revelation 3:5
Reflection
One day, there will be a roll call in heaven. The Bible speaks of the Book of Life, where the names of those who belong to Christ are written. The most important question is not whether people know your name here on earth, but whether your name is recorded in heaven.
- Earthly Recognition vs. Heavenly Record
Many strive to have their names remembered in history, on monuments, or in achievements. Yet Jesus reminds us that true joy comes from knowing our names are written in heaven (Luke 10:20).
- The Story of the Rich Man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19–31)
The rich man was well-known on earth, clothed in fine linen, living in luxury. Lazarus was poor, unnoticed, and despised. But when eternity came, Lazarus was carried into Abraham’s bosom, while the rich man faced torment. The difference was not earthly status, but whether their names were known in heaven.
- The Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1–13)
Five were wise, prepared with oil in their lamps, and entered the wedding feast. The other five were shut out, hearing the dreadful words: “I do not know you.” Preparation and faithfulness determined whose names were recognized when the call was made.
Application
- Examine Your Faith: Is your life surrendered to Christ? Salvation through Jesus is the only way your name can be written in the Book of Life (John 14:6).
- Live Faithfully: Overcomers—those who endure in faith—are promised that their names will never be blotted out (Revelation 3:5).
- Walk in Readiness: Just as the wise virgins kept their lamps burning, we must live daily in readiness for Christ’s return.
Closing Thought
When the trumpet sounds and the roll is called in heaven, earthly titles, wealth, or fame will not matter. What will matter is whether Jesus knows your name and confesses it before the Father.
Is your name written in the Book of Life? Today is the day of salvation. Choose Christ, and rejoice that your name will be there when the call is made in heaven. Remember 2 Cor 6:2. The time is now, tomorrow maybe too late.
