Title: The Rains Are Here.

Scripture focus:   “He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” — Matthew 5:45 (NIV)   “He provides rain for the earth; he sends water on the countryside.” — Job 5:10 (NIV) Devotion: When the rains arrive, they remind us of the boundless love of God. Scripture tells us that “He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous” (Matthew 5:45). Rain is not selective; it falls on all people, replenishing the earth, nourishing crops, refreshing animals, and bringing comfort to humanity. This is a picture of God’s unusual goodness — He blesses even those who do not acknowledge Him, because His mercy is greater than our failings.   The rain teaches us a lesson about how we should treat others. If God can extend kindness to both the good and the evil, then we too must learn to be considerate in our dealings with people, regardless of who they are. Judgment ...

Title: Do you Give Thanks for the Food?

In John 6:11, we see Jesus take the five loaves and two fish, and before distributing them, He gave thanks. This moment is powerful because it shows us that gratitude comes before the miracle. Jesus did not focus on the insufficiency of the food; instead, He acknowledged God as the source and trusted Him to provide. By giving thanks, He demonstrated faith that God could turn little into much. This example challenges us in our own lives. When faced with situations that seem impossible, do we grumble and complain, or do we pause to thank God? Often, our human instinct is to calculate, strategize, or even manipulate circumstances to make things work. But Jesus teaches us that thanksgiving is the key to unlocking divine provision. As Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:6, “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Gratitude is not just a response to what God has already done; it is an act of faith in what ...

Title: Jesus Warns against Spiritual Indifference.

Revelation 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; Read verses 15-16 also.  The three verses read together is somehow difficult to understand, I am bringing it for your understanding because I watched a skit in which the character tried to say God was created by Egyptian god "Atum". Please read the explanation below - God was not created. The passage refers to Jesus (Amen) as the source of all creation. Jesus was not created. Revelation 3:14 is a solemn introduction to Christ’s message for the church in Laodicea. In this verse, He presents Himself with three powerful titles that frame the authority of His words. First, He is called the Amen, the one who embodies certainty and finality. What He declares is absolute truth, the ultimate confirmation of God’s promises. Second, He is the faithful and true witness, the one whose testimony about God and humanity ...

Title: People Leave, God Stays!

Scripture focus: Hebrews 13:5 .... for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Psalm 27:10 Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me”  People who were with you sometimes ago left without telling, no reason they just moved on but God is constant He never leaves. So attach your heart to Him. (Ayatollah Kameinei paraphrased) Devotion: When people walk away from our lives—sometimes without explanation, sometimes without warning—it can leave us feeling abandoned and uncertain. Yet Scripture reminds us that while human relationships may falter, God remains constant. He is the one presence that never shifts, never fades, and never leaves.     The writer of Hebrews assures us: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). This is not just a promise—it is the very character of God. He is faithful even when others are not. Deuteronomy 31:8 echoes this truth: “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he ...

Title: Who Can Please God?

Scripture focus: Romans 8:8  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. Devotion: The verse above is both clear and sobering. It reveals that anyone living according to the flesh—that is, under the control of sinful desires and human nature apart from God—cannot bring delight to Him. To understand who truly can please God, we must consider the contrast Paul presents in Romans 8 between life in the flesh and life in the Spirit.     Those who remain in the flesh are bound by the sinful nature inherited from Adam. Their lives are marked by self-centeredness, rebellion, and desires that run contrary to God’s will. Even if such individuals appear moral or religious outwardly, their hearts remain estranged from God, and thus they cannot please Him.     On the other hand, those who live in the Spirit are able to please God. Romans 8:9 explains, “You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.” T...

Title: Avoiding Arguments in Relationships — A Biblical Perspective.

Relationships are a gift from God, but they require wisdom and grace to flourish. The Bible offers timeless counsel on how to avoid arguments and maintain peace with those we love.   Choose Gentle Words   Proverbs 15:1 teaches: “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Arguments often begin with words spoken in haste. A gentle response, even when provoked, can calm tension and prevent quarrels.     Philippians 2:3–4 says: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” Pride fuels conflict, but humility disarms it. When we put our partner’s needs before our own, arguments lose their power.     Colossians 3:13 reminds us: “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Holding grudges breeds resent...

Title: Peace of God!

Scripture Focus: Philippians 4:7   “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Devotion:  In the complex world we live in, trouble seems to surround us on every side. Many strive to live in peace, yet because of the interconnectedness of society, our peace is often disrupted. Financial struggles, health challenges, strained family relationships, difficulties with children, and pressures at work can weigh heavily on us. Even if one achieves peace in these personal areas, external issues such as community unrest, terrorism, or wars between nations can still disturb the heart.     The truth is, no human effort or possession can guarantee lasting peace. Wealth may buy pleasure but not peace. A stable job may provide financial security but not health. Accidents happen, disasters occur, and circumstances change. Only God can give true and enduring peace.   Jesus Himself declared: ...

Title: Walking with God!

Scripture focus:  “Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.” (Genesis 5:24). Devotion: Walking with God is a timeless call, seen in both the Old and New Testaments. It is a life of faith, obedience, and intimacy with Him.   These patriarchs walked with God in obedience, faith, charity, loving kindness and service.  - Enoch –  His walk led to eternal fellowship.   - Noah – “Noah was a righteous man… and he walked faithfully with God.” (Genesis 6:9). His obedience preserved humanity.   - Abraham – Called “the friend of God” (James 2:23), his faith made him the father of nations.     - Jesus Christ – The perfect example of walking with God. He said, “I always do what pleases Him.” (John 8:29). His obedience brought salvation to the world.   - Paul the Apostle – He declared, “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 11:1). His walk with God transformed ...

Title: Staying Connected to Christ

Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit” (John 15:5). This simple yet profound picture reminds us that our spiritual life flows only from Him. Just as a branch cannot survive apart from the vine, we cannot thrive apart from Christ. To abide is to remain, to dwell, to stay rooted in His presence and nourished by His Word. When we disconnect from Christ, the result is inevitable: spiritual dryness, fruitlessness, and ultimately destruction. “If anyone does not abide in me, he is thrown away like a branch and withers” (John 15:6). Life without Christ may appear busy or full, but it lacks eternal purpose and true joy. So how do we stay connected? We abide in His Word, letting Scripture shape our thoughts and actions. We commune with Him in prayer, drawing strength from His Spirit. We walk in obedience, keeping His commandments, and we remain in fellowship with His people. These practices are not burdens but lifelin...

Title: Wisdom - Your Greatest Need!

Scripture focus: “Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.” – Proverbs 8:14 Devotion:  It is a wonderful thing to be born again. When you are born again, you become a child of God, and as His child, you gain access to His divine inheritance. Among the greatest gifts God gives is wisdom—the ability to rightly apply knowledge for fruitful results.     The opening scripture reveals what divine wisdom produces: good counsel, sound judgment, understanding, and strength. This wisdom is not earthly or fleeting; it is rooted in God Himself.   Scripture reminds us that:  - “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” – Proverbs 9:10   - “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” – James 1:5   - “For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” – Proverbs 2:6...

Title: Merciful God!

Scripture Focus: “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.” — Matthew 5:7   Who Receives God’s Mercy God’s mercy flows to those who humble themselves before Him. The proud resist His grace, but the brokenhearted, the repentant, and those who acknowledge their need for Him are the ones who receive His mercy. David cried, “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love” (Psalm 51:1), and God answered because his heart was contrite. How to Seek God’s Mercy - Confession: Admit your sins openly before God. Mercy begins where pride ends.   - Repentance: Turn away from sin and walk in obedience. Mercy is not a license to continue in wrongdoing but a gift that empowers transformation.   - Prayer: Call upon God sincerely. The tax collector in Luke 18 simply prayed, “God, be merciful to me, a sinner,” and he went home justified.   - Show Mercy: Extend forgiveness and compassion to others. As Jesus taught, those who show mercy will t...

Title: Still on Thanksgiving.

Scripture focus: Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.  Psalms 104:1  KJV  Devotion: I again bless the Lord for great things He has done and will continue to do.  Sing along with me.  CAC HYMN 93 - TO GOD BE THE GLORY, GREAT THINGS HE HATH DONE TO GOD BE THE GLORY 11.11.11.11. and Ref.  Give unto the Lord the glory. - Ps. 29:2 1. To God be the glory, great things He hath done, So loved He the world that He gave us His Son, Who yielded His life an atonement for sin, And open'd the Life Gate that all may go in. CHORUS: Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Let the earth hear His voice! Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Let the people rejoice! O come to the Father, through; Jesus the Son; And give Him the glory! Great things, He hath done! 2. O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood; To every believer the promise of God; The vilest offender who truly believes, That moment from Jesus a pardon rec...

Title: A Thankful Soul!

Scripture Focus:   “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” — Psalms 100:4   Reflection:   There is a Yorùbá adage that says, “Ẹni tó dúpẹ́, ó gba míràn” — “A thankful soul receives another.” Gratitude is not just a polite response; it is a spiritual key that unlocks more blessings. When we pause to say thank you to God, even without a specific reason, we acknowledge His goodness and invite His continued favor.      This morning, my heart is overflowing with thanksgiving. No particular event triggered it — just the deep awareness that God is worthy of praise. Sometimes, the purest worship is simply waking up and whispering, “Thank You, Lord.”   Call to Action:   I invite you, dear reader, to join me in this chorus of gratitude. Let us sing together, not because everything is perfect, but because God is faithful. Lift your voice, hum a tune, or...

Title: God’s Compassions Fail Not.

Scripture focus:Lamentations 3:22-23  It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Devotion: Jeremiah’s words in Lamentations 3:22–23 rise out of a landscape of sorrow and devastation, yet they shine with hope: “It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Even in grief, he recognized that God’s compassion is inexhaustible. Like the sunrise that faithfully breaks through the darkest night, His mercies arrive fresh each day, never diminished, never delayed. Human compassion often falters. It can be worn thin by fatigue, clouded by selfishness, or forgotten in the rush of life. But God’s compassion is infinite. He sees our weakness, our failures, and our brokenness, and yet He responds with mercy and love. This is why we are not consumed—His faithfulness sustains us when our own strengt...

Title: Benefits of Pleasing the Lord.

Scripture focus: “When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.”  Proverbs 16:7 KJV  Devotion: This verse reminds us that the favour of God is not only spiritual but also practical—it influences our relationships, our circumstances, and even the hearts of those who oppose us.   To please the Lord is more than outward rituals; it is the posture of a heart fully surrendered to Him. It begins with accepting Christ as Lord and Savior, for true peace comes when we are reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. It continues with submission to His authority and sovereignty, trusting His wisdom above our own. Pleasing Him means living in total obedience, walking in His commandments even when it costs us, and being filled with the Holy Spirit so that our thoughts, words, and actions reflect His character. When our lives align with His will, we become living testimonies of His goodness, and that pleases Him.   But who are t...

Title: Repression, Its Repercussions.

Scripture fo cus: Proverbs 14:31 – “Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.” Reflection Repression is when someone uses their power, strength, or influence to silence, control, or hurt others. It might look like bullying in school, mocking someone’s weakness, or even nations denying freedom to their people. At first, repression may seem like strength—but in reality, it is weakness disguised as power.   The Bible reminds us that when we oppress others, we dishonor God Himself, because every person is made in His image. Repression creates wounds:   - For the victim – fear, loss of confidence, and pain.   - For the oppressor – guilt, broken relationships, and eventually consequences.   - For the community – division, mistrust, and cycles of hatred.   History shows that nations built on repression eventually crumble, and friendships built on bullying eventually break. What feels...

Title: The Call to Fellowship.

Scripture focus: “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” (Matthew 18:20).  Devotion: Beloved, fellowship is God’s gracious design for His children. Scripture reminds us, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” (Matthew 18:20). As new believers, joining the fellowship of the saints is not optional—it is essential for spiritual growth. In fellowship we learn, encourage one another, and deepen our knowledge of God’s Word. The early church understood this well, for “they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42). From the very beginning, the church was strengthened through fellowship, and so it remains today. Fellowship matters because it nurtures our faith in profound ways. It fosters spiritual growth, as we gain deeper understanding of the Word through shared insights and testimonies. As Hebrews 10:24–25 exhorts us, we are to spur one another on toward love and ...

Title: Living Alone, Yet Never Alone.

Scripture focus: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)   There’s a powerful saying: “One with God is a majority.” This truth reminds us that even in seasons of solitude, we are never truly alone when God is with us. Living alone can sometimes feel isolating, but Scripture shows us that God’s presence transforms solitude into strength. God’s Presence in Solitude: - Joseph in Egypt: Though sold into slavery and separated from family, Joseph was never alone. The Bible says, “The Lord was with Joseph, and he prospered” (Genesis 39:2). His isolation became the stage for God’s favor. - Elijah at Mount Carmel: Standing against hundreds of prophets of Baal, Elijah seemed alone. Yet he declared, “The Lord, He is God!” (1 Kings 18:39). One man with God outweighed the multitude. - Paul in Prison: Though chained and abandoned by some, Paul wrote, “But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength” (2 Timothy 4:17). His confinement became a pulpit for the gospel. Key Ve...

Title: Selfishness – An Attribute to Discard.

Scripture focus: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.” – Philippians 2:3   Devotion:  Selfishness is a subtle enemy of love. It blinds us to the needs of others and keeps us from reflecting Christ’s heart. The Bible warns us:   A Story of Contrast:  Lot and Abraham faced a choice when their herdsmen quarreled over land (Genesis 13:5–11). Abraham, though the elder and rightful leader, gave Lot the first choice of land. Lot chose selfishly, taking the fertile plains, while Abraham humbly trusted God. In the end, God blessed Abraham abundantly, showing that selflessness leads to divine favor.   Reflection:  Selfishness isolates, but love unites. Jesus Himself modeled ultimate selflessness: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).   Prayer:  Lord, remove selfishness from my heart. Teac...

Title: God Has His Eyes on You!

"Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence." — Psalm 91:3 Devotion:   The moment you became born again, you became a child of God. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12). You became God's responsibility, and as such, He has eyes on you every moment of the day. “For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers” (1 Peter 3:12). He is doing this to protect you from the snare of the fowler, which is the traps that the enemy and his cohort of darkness plan against you day and night.   God is keeping an eye on you to deliver you from them all. “The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul” (Psalm 121:7). Noisome pestilence is an unpleasant, contagious, and infectious disease that causes many people to die. You will not be infected by it, because you are a child of God w...

Title: Justice!

Scripture focus: “For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23).   Two days ago we reflected on grace—God’s unmerited favor that saves us. Today, let us turn our hearts to the sobering reality of justice, the opposite of grace in Scripture.   The Nature of God’s Justice: God is holy, and His justice demands that sin be punished.   - “For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23).   - “The soul who sins shall die” (Ezekiel 18:20).   Justice means that every wrong deed must face judgment. No one can escape it by effort or good works. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).   Why Grace Is Our Only Hope: If God dealt with us only in justice, none could stand. But in His mercy, He offers grace through Jesus Christ.   - “…but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).   - “By grace you have been saved through faith… it is the gift of God” (Ephesian...

Title: Grace!

Scripture focus:  Ephesians 2:8–9: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Devotion: Grace is the unmerited favor of God—His free gift of love, forgiveness, and salvation that we cannot earn by our own works. It is God’s kindness extended to humanity despite our shortcomings. Grace is the very foundation of the Christian faith, because it is through grace that we are saved, sustained, and empowered to live for Christ. Grace is revealed in many ways. First, we see grace in salvation. Humanity was lost in sin, but God, in His mercy, sent His Son to die for us. The thief on the cross illustrates this truth vividly. Though he had no time to do good works, Jesus assured him of paradise simply because he believed. His story shows us that salvation is purely by grace, not by human effort (Luke 23:39–43). Grace also meets us in our weakness. It is not only about salvation; it sustains us in...

Title: Premarital Sex? Wrong!

Scripture Foundation: - “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.” — Hebrews 13:4   - “Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.” — 1 Corinthians 6:18   - “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:3   Reflection: God designed sex as a beautiful gift to be enjoyed within the covenant of marriage. Outside of this sacred boundary, it becomes destructive rather than life-giving. Premarital sex distorts God’s plan, leading to guilt, brokenness, and spiritual distance from Him. The world may normalize it, but Scripture calls us to holiness, reminding us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19–20). Choosing purity is not about denying pleasure but about honoring God, protecting our hea...

Title: Pride of Life Leads to Destruction.

Scripture focus: - Proverbs 16:18 – “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”   - James 4:6 – “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”   Devotion: The Bible warns us that the “pride of life” is one of the temptations that draws people away from God (1 John 2:16). Pride makes us believe we don’t need God, that our strength, wisdom, or possessions are enough. But Scripture shows that pride always ends in downfall.    Bible Stories - King Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 4): He boasted about his great kingdom, forgetting that it was God who gave him power. God humbled him by making him live like an animal until he acknowledged God’s sovereignty.   - The Tower of Babel (Genesis 11): Humanity tried to build a tower to make a name for themselves, but God scattered them, showing that prideful ambition leads to confusion and ruin.   - Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12–15): Pride led to his fall from heaven, becomin...

Title: Profiteering from Religion, a Sin.

Scripture Foundation - Matthew 21:12–13 – “Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. ‘It is written,’ he said to them, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’”   - 1 Timothy 6:5 – “…men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.”   - Acts 8:20 – “Peter answered: ‘May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!’”   Reflection The Word of God makes it clear that faith is not a commodity to be traded for profit. When religion is exploited for personal gain, it distorts the sacred purpose of worship and dishonors God. Jesus Himself showed righteous anger when the temple was turned into a marketplace, reminding us that His house is meant for prayer, not profiteering. ...

Devotional: The Blessing of Godly Siblings.

Scripture Reading:   "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" — Psalm 133:1   Growing up with siblings who love one another is one of life’s greatest blessings. In many families, quarrels and rivalry are common, but when Christ is at the center, love and peace reign. Growing up we never fought, we studied together, worked together, and even carried out household chores without complaint. That is a living testimony of the power of unity in Christ.   Even now, as adults with our own families, we remain closely knit. A missed day of communication is enough for my siblings to check in with love. This is what Jesus meant when He said, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” (John 13:35).   When our mother passed away, we faced that difficult moment not with strife but with cooperation. The burial was a success because we trusted God and leaned on one another. Truly,...

Title: Peace in Times of War!

War in the Middle East, Ukraine, and tensions in South China remind us that humanity is often caught in storms beyond its control. Yet Scripture teaches that true peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of Christ.   Jesus Christ Himself is the giver of peace. He said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27). The world may offer fragile treaties and temporary ceasefires, but Christ offers an inner calm that transcends circumstances.   How then do we acquire this peace in times of war? First, by trusting in God’s sovereignty. Isaiah reminds us, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” (Isaiah 26:3). Even when nations rage, believers anchor their hearts in God’s unshakable rule.   Second, through prayer. Paul exhorts us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation,...

Title: What does freedom in Christ mean to you?

Freedom, Flesh and the Spirit Let us walk through Galatians chapter 5 from verse 1 to 26 carefully and thoughtfully. Freedom Is the Foundation. Galatians 5 verse 1. Paul begins by saying it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. That statement alone tells us that salvation was not meant to place us under another form of bondage. Christ did not rescue us from sin so that we would now live under fear, pressure and constant anxiety about earning God’s approval. The yoke Paul speaks about represents religious slavery, especially the idea that believers must keep certain laws to be accepted by God. Paul urges them to stand firm because freedom must be guarded. If believers are not careful, they can slowly drift back into performance based religion. True Christian freedom is not rebellion against God. It is freedom from trying to earn what Jesus already accomplished. Grace Versus Law. Galatians 5 verses 2 to 6. Paul makes it clear that if someone depends on religious rituals for justifi...

Title: As You Lay Your Bed, So Shall You Lie on It.

Scripture focus:  “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” KJV. Life is full of choices, and each choice we make is like laying down a sheet on the bed of our future. Scripture reminds us of this principle in Galatians 6:7 — “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” The decisions we make today, whether good or bad, will shape the comfort or discomfort of our tomorrow. When we choose honesty, diligence, kindness, and obedience to God, we are laying a bed of peace, joy, and blessing. But when we choose shortcuts, deceit, or disobedience, we prepare a bed that will be hard to rest on. God in His mercy forgives, but the consequences of our actions often remain as lessons. The devotion here is simple: be mindful of the bed you are laying. Each word spoken, each action taken, each seed sown is preparing the place where you will rest. If you desire peace, sow peace. If you desire joy, sow joy. If you desire eternal life, sow to plea...

Title: Shared Responsibility in Parenting.

Scripture Foundation - Proverbs 22:6 – “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”   - Deuteronomy 6:6–7 – “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”   - Ephesians 6:4 – “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” Reflection Parenting has shifted across generations—from patriarchal structures where fathers provided materially and mothers nurtured morally, to modern times where both parents work and children spend much of their formative years in schools or hostels. This shift has led to children being more influenced by peers and teachers than by their parents.     The absence of consistent parental guidance has opened the door to moral decay: indulgence in drugs, sexual i...

Title: The Water Lily Christian.

Key Text: “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.” — Ephesians 4:14 (KJV) The Water Lily Analogy:  A water lily is a beautiful plant, but it is unstable. Its roots do not go deep into the soil, so the slightest push from the waves makes it sway back and forth. In the same way, an uncommitted Christian who lacks deep knowledge of God’s Word is easily swayed by every new teaching, trend, or voice that comes along. The Danger of Shallow Roots:  Jesus warned about this in the parable of the sower: “But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.” — Matthew 13:20–21   Without strong roots in Scripture, believers a...

Title: Commitment to God, Relationships, and Work.

Scripture Reading:   - “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.” — Psalm 37:5   - “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” — Colossians 3:23   - “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” — 1 Peter 4:8   Reflection Commitment is the glue that holds our spiritual, relational, and professional lives together.   - Commitment to God: Our first and highest devotion is to the Lord. When we surrender our plans to Him, He directs our steps and gives us strength to remain faithful (Proverbs 16:3). True commitment to God means daily obedience and trust, even when the path is uncertain.   - Commitment in Relationships: God calls us to love deeply and faithfully. Commitment in relationships is not about perfection but about consistency—choosing to forgive, to serve, and to honor one another. Just as Christ’s love is unwavering, our relationships should re...

Title: The Significance of Fasting in Lent.

Scripture focus:  “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). KJV  Devotion: 1. Physical Health Benefits of Fasting God designed our bodies with rhythms of rest and renewal. Modern science confirms what Scripture has long practiced: fasting can improve physical health by: - Allowing the body to detox and reset (Isaiah 58:6 speaks of breaking chains and loosing burdens, which can be seen both spiritually and physically). - Supporting discipline over appetite, which strengthens self-control (Proverbs 25:28). - Renewing energy and clarity of mind, as I   testified—my health improved during my fast. 2. Spiritual Importance of Christian Fasting Fasting is not just abstaining from food; it is feasting on God’s presence. Jesus taught: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).   - Fasting humbles us before God (Psalm 35:13).   - It...

True Worship: Church Attendance and Obedience.

Scripture focus:  “If you love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15).   Today is another Sunday. Many attend service faithfully, yet leave unchanged, living contrary to the Word they have heard. This is hypocrisy. God desires not only our presence in His house but also our obedience in daily life. To worship Him truly, we must embrace both—fellowship in church and obedience in practice. The Blessing of Church Attendance: - Community & fellowship: A place to worship together, encourage one another, and grow in faith.   - Sacraments & teaching: A source of spiritual nourishment through communion and sound doctrine.   - Discipline & rhythm: Builds consistency and accountability in our walk with God.   The Call to Obedience: - Heart of faith: Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15).   - Practical righteousness: Obedience is revealed in how we live, treat others, and resist temptation.   - B...

Title: "Two Steps Forward, One Step Back"

For a born-again Christian, this phrase can describe the tension between genuine progress in faith and the recurring temptation to fall back into old habits. It’s not unusual for believers to feel like they are advancing in holiness, only to stumble again. The Bible acknowledges this struggle and offers both warning and hope. Scripture focus: - “The hand of the diligent will rule, while the slothful will be put to forced labor.” — Proverbs 12:24   - “Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.” — Romans 12:11 Reflection:  Diligence is more than hard work—it is faithful perseverance. His diligence inspired the people to complete the work in just 52 days. Or the Proverbs 31 woman, whose diligence in caring for her household and community is praised as noble. These examples remind us that diligence is not just about productivity—it is about faithfulness to God’s calling. Application:   - Be diligent in work: Whatever your hand finds to ...
