Title: Draw Near to the One Who Matters!

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. James 4:8 KJV
Devotion: It’s difficult to come into the presence of God when we are double-minded. When we believe His word and then doubt what’s next to come, nothing good will come out of such a mindset. Unfortunately, we can be like this sometimes, especially when our mind is clouded with fears and worries that overtake our faith in God and His faithfulness to accomplish His Word and promises.
 Beloved, it is a blessed thing to be convicted by the Holy Spirit when your faith is wavering! The opening scripture may seem harsh, but God’s truth hurts if we are not aligned, and His love brings discipline simply because He loves us! If this speaks to you, know how much you are cherished and loved by the Father! Draw near to Him and let go of every unbelief! He alone matters; the rest are truly insignificant! Hallelujah!

Prayer point: Holy Spirit, thank You for convicting me and guiding me to draw closer to the Father. You expose my heart and thoughts, and I am blessed that You care enough to correct me so I am always restored in God’s mercy and grace. Thank You for drawing me near to God today as I seek the Father in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Devotional: Late music legend – Peter Tosh sang a song with this title many years ago. It came to mind yesterday while I listened to a beautifully delivered sermon at a burial. I therefore penned this devotional on same title. Do not be deceived, at a point in your life you’ll fly away.   There comes a day when the tapestry of your earthly existence is folded.
