BLACK A SHADE OF WHITE

Blacks are the new whites. Little wonder the craze to bleach! Whichever shade we choose to put it, the definition of the word 'masses' must exclude the elites. These elites represents the choicest or most select of a group of people. Is it possible to say, that the choicest of the masses too are elites? Why then are some people forcing a toga of compulsory humility on themselves, in order to dubiously identify with the masses? Unknown to many, it is mere stage management. Why? The successful running of the political machineries in Nigeria is highly dependent on poverty. Thus, it has as its sole aim, sequestering as many as possible in the mire of helpless lack and misinformation. If not, who would queue for the measly rations of grains and morally low currencies? Asides the numbing effect of poverty on the mind, the system itself encourages them not to think, or be in the full possession of their faculties. They're meant to be used - their brains, faces, thumbprints, voices and lifespan. There's even a fierce struggle amongst them, on whom to be 'used' next. This is akin to the slavery era, when people liberally used charms on themselves for a chance at carrying the white men on their shoulders for long hauls. The colonial whites are long gone now, but our own 'black white men' live with us with their padlocks, fetters, whips and other paraphernalia of slavery. People are traded, depending on which turf suits their paymaster. They're rather left to roam free, and recruit more slaves in their caste a la snowball. If these positions are wrong, why should these Rolex sporting, Mercedes riding and comfort imbued folks come out and feign defense of people living in hardship? Can they absolve themselves of profiting from the misery of the masses? Rather than talk about protests, I think these 'white black men' should rather be talking or thinking about the reparations they owe the masses. The hypnosis is wearing out, and the masses could soon wake up!
