Title: Death and God's plan for the Saved.
2 Samuel 14:14 For we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God respect any person: yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.
Devotion:
Death: A Universal Reality: Death is an inevitable part of life, a reality that awaits us all. As the Bible reminds us in 2 Samuel 14:14, "we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again." This poignant analogy underscores the finality of death, the irreversibility of life's fleeting moments.
No Respect of Persons: Yet, in the face of death's universality, we often find ourselves grappling with the question of fairness. Why do some lives seem to be cut short, while others are granted more years? The Bible reminds us that "God respecteth no person" (2 Samuel 14:14). Death is a great leveler, a reminder that our lives are not our own.
God's Plan for the Believer: But for those who have given their lives to Jesus Christ, death holds a different significance. While it marks the end of our earthly journey, it also heralds the beginning of our eternal life with Christ. As the Bible assures us, "neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39).
Hope in the Midst of Sorrow: In the midst of sorrow and grief, this truth brings us hope. We know that our loved ones who have passed on are not lost to us forever. Rather, they have gone ahead to be with the Lord, awaiting the day when we shall be reunited with them in glory.
God's Means of Restoration: And so, even as we acknowledge the reality of death, we also affirm our faith in God's plan of restoration. As 2 Samuel 14:14 reminds us, "yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him." God's love is not limited by death; rather, it transcends even the grave itself.
In conclusion, death may be a universal reality, but for the believer, it holds no fear. We know that our lives are in God's hands, and that He has devised a means of restoration that goes beyond the grave. May this truth bring us comfort, hope, and assurance, as we face the uncertainties of life and the inevitability of death.
I therefore urge you the believer and you yet to believe in Christ to keep your hope alive; death is the second stage in live's journey, it is a transition from live to eternity with Christ. If you have not given your life to Christ please do quickly because you don't know when God will say come home (2Corithians 6:2) You have to be prepared to enjoy the escape route God made for His own children.(2Samuel 14:14).
My dear mom went to be with the Lord yesterday. I have joy that she gave her life while here. Hallelujah!
