Title: A Cup Overflowing with Blessings

‭Psalm 23:5-6 KJV‬ [5] Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. [6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. Devotion: As Psalm 23 comes to a close, the psalmist paints a scene that is both dynamic and ironic: a lavish banquet is prepared right in front of his enemies. Imagine God laying out a feast before you in the presence of adversity and fear. God gives abundantly in the middle of hardship. “You anoint my head with oil,” the psalmist adds, “my cup overflows.” Anointing with oil demonstrates divine favor and strength. It's like a warrior receiving a blessing before battle. Every obstacle and doubt are met with God's presence. The psalmist’s cup isn’t just full, it’s running over! In God, we have blessings that joyfully spill over into the lives of others.   The psalmist concludes with wholehearted trust:  "Surely y...

Title: Meekness is not Laziness.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Matthew 5:5 KJV Devotion: In the spiritual, meekness is power submitted to God's control, it is different from weakness, lack of power or lack of support or influence. In actual fact it is reliance on God's power when you decide not to judge, when you decide to let go and instead praise God. Then God will act on your behalf and do the needful.  Is anyone lording it over you and seemingly you cannot overcome him by your power? Simply submit to God in prayers and wait for God's judgement. The Israelites could not overcome Pharaoh by the strength of arms God did for them. The walls of Jericho was a big issue on the way, but it went down when Israelites submitted to God's order.  Dearly beloved, all you need is submit to God having done your humanly part, God will do the rest. Hallelujah! Don't forget to share your testimony with us. Written by me Dr Joel Olanrewaju, I can be reached at gbemide09@gmail.com for ques...

Title: Which vessel are you?

"If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. Timothy 2:21"  Devotion : My mom and women of her generation have an extensive collection of enamelware in various sizes and colors. While some pieces are used regularly, others are reserved for special purposes, such as for my dad's use or to serve esteemed guests on special occasions, highlighting the significance and value attached to these items.  In a great house, there are vessels made of gold, silver, wood, and clay. Some vessels are placed in prominent places of honor, and others are placed where they can be easily reached for ordinary use. In the same way, in the house of God, there are many vessels, which represent the children of God. Some are placed in prominent and vital positions and others in ordinary positions.  However, there is room for promotion, which comes to those who will work on themselves...

Title: Be on your Guide!

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. ‭1 Peter 5:8-9 KJV‬ Devotional: In verse 8, Peter urges believers to be vigilant and alert, much like a soldier on guard duty. He emphasizes the need to remain sober and aware of their surroundings. The devil is portrayed as a fierce predator, akin to a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. His goal is to undermine believers’ faith and their relationship with God. Moving to verse 9, Peter encourages believers to stand firm in their faith and resist the devil’s attacks. They should not waver or give in to fear. Additionally, Peter reminds them that they are not alone in their struggles; fellow believers worldwide face similar challenges and afflictions. This knowledge should strengthen their resolve to persevere. Overall, this passage un...

Title: Focus on heavenly things.

‭ ... while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18 KJV‬ Devotion: We have a special ministry, and because of God’s mercy, we don’t lose heart. We’ve chosen to be honest and not deceive anyone. Instead, we share the truth openly, knowing that some people won’t understand.  The god of this world has blinded those who don’t believe, preventing them from seeing the glorious message of Christ. We don’t preach about ourselves; our focus is on Jesus.  Even though we face challenges, we’re not defeated. We carry the message of Jesus’ sacrifice in our bodies, and our faith sustains us. Our temporary struggles lead to an eternal glory that we can’t see yet.  Proclaiming the Word of God in certain regions of the world is a daunting task that can even cost one's life. I have personal experience living in a country where sharing the mes...

Title : Come back to Jesus!

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.‭ Isaiah 53:6 KJV‬ Devotion: While waiting on the Lord on what to write on the verse of the day this is what I saw: "I saw myself picking up empty drink cans and dropping them into the waste bin." Some people drank the content of these and I am sure they know it should never be dropped on the ground. In most countries it is an offense and one can be fined for littering the environment.    This is how we all do things we know we should never do yet we do. The Bible says in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" so none is exempted. But unlike world government which will fine or send to jail, God made a way for all to escape the punishment for sin. In 2 Samuel 14:14b "yet doth he devise means, that his banished(the sinner) be not expelled from him."  This way is Jesus Christ (John 14:6) the son of ...

Title: Jesus is the Truth you Need.

.... and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. ‭John 8:32 KJV‬ Devotion: What is truth? Our world has many ways of answering this question. Often, this is what we see: truth is whatever you want it to be. It’s defined by the individual and nothing else.  Recently there was an argument online in which someone claimed that his assertion was the only truth, the correct version but all other people in the platform new that this man was wrong yet he tried to force others to believe in his truth. We often find such position in politics; when politicians need the people's votes they tell you black is white and want you to believe.  But God’s definition of truth is different because he himself through his son, Jesus Christ is the truth and the life (John 14 : 6). If you want to enjoy this truth all you need is come to Jesus Christ because only in Him can you have freedom. He will set you free from human deceit. Those who practice idol worshipping know they are d...
