He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. ‘It is written,’ he said to them, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’” - 1 Timothy 6:5 – “…men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.” - Acts 8:20 – “Peter answered: ‘May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!’” Reflection The Word of God makes it clear that faith is not a commodity to be traded for profit. When religion is exploited for personal gain, it distorts the sacred purpose of worship and dishonors God. Jesus Himself showed righteous anger when the temple was turned into a marketplace, reminding us that His house is meant for prayer, not profiteering. ...
