Title: Justice!

Scripture focus: “For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23).

Two days ago we reflected on grace—God’s unmerited favor that saves us. Today, let us turn our hearts to the sobering reality of justice, the opposite of grace in Scripture.

The Nature of God’s Justice:
God is holy, and His justice demands that sin be punished.
- “For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23).
- “The soul who sins shall die” (Ezekiel 18:20).

Justice means that every wrong deed must face judgment. No one can escape it by effort or good works. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

Why Grace Is Our Only Hope:
If God dealt with us only in justice, none could stand. But in His mercy, He offers grace through Jesus Christ.
- “…but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
- “By grace you have been saved through faith… it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).

At the cross, justice and grace meet. Jesus bore the punishment we deserved: “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree…” (1 Peter 2:24).

Why Christians Must Avoid Justice:
- Sin leads to judgment: To live in sin is to invite God’s justice.
- No one survives justice alone: Our righteousness is like filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6).
- Grace is the only covering: To reject grace is to face justice unprotected.
Paul warns us: “Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means!” (Romans 6:1–2).

How to Remain Under Grace:
1. Accept Christ’s sacrifice – Believe in Him as Savior (John 3:16).
2. Repent of sin – Turn away from sinful living (Acts 3:19).
3. Walk in obedience – Show gratitude for grace by living holy (John 14:15).
4. Trust daily in God’s mercy – Not in your own strength (Habakkuk 2:4).

Closing Reflection: Justice without grace is eternal separation from God. Grace without justice would make God unjust. But in Christ, justice is satisfied and grace is poured out. That is why Christians must do all possible to avoid standing before God in justice—because only grace can carry us through.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the gift of grace through Jesus Christ. Keep me from sin that leads to judgment, and help me walk daily in Your mercy. Amen.

Which would prefer - Grace or Justice, think about it and please help others share this with your contacts.
