Title : Acceptable Words and Meditation

"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalms 19:14"
Devotion : The opening scripture is a prayer request from a Psalmist who sought to please his Maker both within and without. In other words, he wanted his speeches and deep thoughts to be blameless. A sign of maturity in Christ Jesus is our ability to think carefully about what we want to say before we say it. The prayer of the Psalmist should also be our prayer so that the Holy Spirit guards our heart and guides our tongue. This is very vital because evil thoughts or desires corrupt the heart, which leads to evil utterances or actions. Likewise good thoughts or good desires elate the heart and lead to good utterances or actions. Meditating on the Word of God produces good thoughts, leading to good utterances and actions.
