Title: Submit to Authority!

“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” Romans 13:1 (KJV)

Beloved, the authorities established in the various institutions of the state are ordained of God. Due to this truth, God wants His children to submit to these authorities, and pray for them (1 Timothy 2:1–2). There are some who submit to the authorities in the church but neglect those in other institutions such as the police, tax officers, etc.; this is wrong.

Beloved, the opening scripture tells us to submit to all authorities because God ordained them. If you are fond of evading taxes, give no regard to the traffic light, and go to work late as a civil servant, it is time to stop these habits and honor the authorities God has instituted. Submitting to them is a mark of humility, and God will promote you in due time because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (1 Peter 5:5). Beloved, humble yourself so that God can lift you up to be a responsible authority for Him (1 Peter 5:6). Hallelujah! Be submissive!

Prayer Point: Dear Abba Father, I bless Your name for teaching me how to humble myself to the authorities You have ordained in the church as well as the state. I submit to these authorities wisely according to Your Word. Please lead and guide me to teach others to do likewise in Jesus’ name. Amen!
