Title: You Can Overcome Temptation!

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)

Beloved, the children of God are not immune to temptation. Temptation is part of the Christian training. Remember that Jesus Christ was tempted so that He would be able to help us in times of temptation (Matthew 4:1-11, Hebrews 2:18). When Jesus Christ was tempted, He overcame the temptation with the Word of God; in fact, He armed Himself with the Word of God and was ready to take on any form of temptation.

Beloved, this should be our disposition in times of temptation; we should arm ourselves with the Word of God and look for the way of escape that God has provided for us. God is faithful and He will not allow us to be tempted above our strength. Arm yourself with the Word of God and be on the alert so that you can overcome the temptation that is knocking at your door. Beloved, if Joseph overcame temptation from Potiphar’s wife, you also can overcome temptation (Genesis 39:11–12). May the Holy Spirit lead you to overcome any form of temptation. Hallelujah! Be an overcomer!

Prayer Point: Abba Father, thank You for Your admonition about temptation. Indeed, You allow me to be tempted according to my ability, and You even provide a way of escape. Please open my eyes to always see the way of escape during temptations, and I will do well to overcome them by Your Word in Jesus’ name. Amen!
