Title: You Are in a Battle!

“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.” Psalms 2:1-4 (KJV)
The moment you became born again, you are engaged in a battle with forces of darkness. The opening scripture gives you the picture of the kind of battle going on between the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness. There is always a conspiracy in the realm of the spirit to destroy the children of God (Colossians 2:15).
  There's an allegation that they have gone a step further in Nigeria now by writing to churches to close for three months otherwise churches will be attacked. (the video confirmation by top security officer is online).
 Christians must be aware of this so that they can always be prepared to engage the enemy and keep him under their feet. 
 Genesis 9:6, says  "Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man". This is a call for self defence both spiritually and physically.  Do not say it is old testament thing because in Revelation 13: 10 the bible says  "He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints".
 Beloved, God is on your side; to put your enemies to shame, therefore, put on the whole armor of God and be ever ready to win the war against satan and his cohorts of darkness (Ephesians 6:11). Don’t complain about the challenges you are going through. It is important for you to go through these so that you can have testimonies to share (Revelation 12:11). Encourage yourself and march forward, for God will always give you the victory. Praise the Lord! Be an overcomer!

Devotional: Late music legend – Peter Tosh sang a song with this title many years ago. It came to mind yesterday while I listened to a beautifully delivered sermon at a burial.
