Title: Work Earnestly from the Beginning.

Scripture Reading:
"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might…" (Ecclesiastes 9:10)
"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans." (Proverbs 16:3)

Reflection
The first working day of the year is like the laying of a foundation. Just as a builder knows that the strength of a house depends on how well the foundation is set, so our year depends on how earnestly we begin.
Think of Nehemiah rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. He didn’t wait for perfect conditions; he began with prayer, planning, and hard work. Despite opposition, he worked earnestly from the start, and the walls were completed in just 52 days (Nehemiah 6:15). His diligence at the beginning set the tone for success.
Or consider Jesus’ ministry. At the age of 30, when He began His public work, He started with clarity and purpose: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me…” (Luke 4:18). From the very beginning, He worked earnestly, teaching, healing, and fulfilling His mission without delay.

Application
- Start with prayer: Before diving into tasks, commit your work to God.
- Work wholeheartedly: Don’t wait for mid-year motivation. Begin now with diligence.
- Guard against procrastination: Small delays at the start can grow into missed opportunities.
- Trust God’s strength: Our effort matters, but it is God who establishes the work of our hands.

Encouragement
As you step into this first working day of the year, remember: beginnings matter. Sow seeds of diligence, faith, and excellence now, and you will reap a harvest of fruitfulness later.
"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus…" (Colossians 3:17).
