Title: Remember Your Creator in the Days of Your Youth.
"Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them."
Ecclesiastes 12:1
Youth is a precious season of life, filled with strength, opportunities, and dreams. Sadly, many young people spend these valuable years pursuing their own desires while postponing their relationship with God. Yet the Scriptures remind us to remember our Creator while we are young and to dedicate our lives to Him before the challenges and limitations of old age arrive.
I once met a teenager who confidently said that he planned to make ritual money while he was young. According to him, he would enjoy the pleasures and wealth of this world and then, at the age of sixty, give his life to Christ and ask for forgiveness. What a dangerous assumption! No one knows the length of his days. What if death should come before that age? What if he never gets the opportunity he is counting on? He would have wasted his youth chasing things that cannot save and missed the grace that God offers today.
The Bible warns us against boasting about tomorrow because we do not know what a day may bring forth (Proverbs 27:1). Life is uncertain, and tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone. This is why God calls us to seek Him now, not later.
In continuation of yesterday's meditation from 2 Samuel 14, we are reminded that although mankind was separated from God because of sin, God in His mercy has made a way of restoration and escape. That way is found in Jesus Christ. Through His death and resurrection, God has provided salvation for all who will repent and place their faith in Him. Jesus Himself declared, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6).
The Lord's invitation remains open today. His Word says, "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2). God does not promise us tomorrow, but He offers us His grace today. Why delay when the door of mercy is open?
If you are young, do not waste your strength, talents, and years pursuing a life without God. Live for Christ while you have the opportunity. Make Him your Lord and Saviour now. Follow the example of those who served God from their youth, such as Timothy, who was taught the Scriptures from childhood (2 Timothy 3:15).
Jesus lovingly calls all who are weary and burdened: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Whatever burden you carry, bring it to His feet. Whatever sin, guilt, fear, or confusion weighs you down, surrender it to Him. He is able to save, sustain, and satisfy completely.
Do not wait for a more convenient season. Do not assume there will be another opportunity. Remember your Creator in the days of your youth. Embrace His grace while it is available. Come to Jesus today, for He alone can give true peace, lasting joy, and eternal life.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of life and for the grace of salvation. Help me not to waste the years You have given me. Teach me to seek You wholeheartedly and to live for Your glory. I surrender my life to You today. Lead me in Your ways and keep me faithful until the end. Amen.
