Title: In The Last Day ...
“For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
Ecclesiastes 12:14 (KJV)
Reflection: A student is assessed throughout each semester based on class attendance, participation, assignments, and tests. According to the school's regulations, such a student may receive favourable evaluations for diligence and performance. However, at the end of the semester, final examinations are conducted, and every student must attain the required standard. The class tests, examination results, and attendance records are then considered together before a final judgment is made as to whether the student passes or fails. No student can pass solely on class tests or examinations; both are necessary for a successful outcome.
In a similar way, we as human beings are like students in God's classroom. Our daily lives, conduct, words, thoughts, and actions constitute our coursework. Our faith, submission to Christ's authority, and perseverance in Him are like the final examination. God's standard is perfect holiness. Unlike human institutions where a pass mark may be 50%, God requires complete righteousness.
The good news is that what we could never achieve by our own efforts, Christ has provided through His saving grace. The Bible declares:
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23
And yet:
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
Ephesians 2:8
On the Day of Judgment, the books will be opened (Revelations 20:12), and every person will give an account of his or her life before God. Some of us will pass but some will not therefore God has given us the grace not to be banished (2 Samuel 14:14) by giving us Christ the Messiah (John 3:16). Therefore we all have this grace beckoning at us now and it is free. Jesus is knocking he wants to assist you and me so that we will not be banished from God(Revelation 3:20).
Will you not rather give your life to Jesus today, tomorrow is not guaranteed. Taste Jesus today He satisfies. God bless you as you do. Shalom.
