Title: Humble yourself

2 Chronicles 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Devotion: Pride goes before destruction. Anyone who disobeys God is a sinner and a proud person is most likely to sin. Pharaoh was proud, he did not allow the children of Israel to leave Egypt, Exodus 10:13. He perished in the Red Sea, Exodus 14:28.
 But if you humble yourself before God as he promised in today's passage, God will forgive you your sin 1King 21:29; 2King 22:19. If you humble yourself God will exhalt you and vice versa Luke 14:11.
  Therefore dearly beloved I urge you to "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up" James 4:10. It is a small matter for the humble, just confess your sins and be converted. Make a decision not to sin again, then accept Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Your joy will have no limit, Amen.

Psalms 90:10  The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Devotional: Late music legend – Peter Tosh sang a song with this title many years ago. It came to mind yesterday while I listened to a beautifully delivered sermon at a burial. I therefore penned this devotional on same title. Do not be deceived, at a point in your life you’ll fly away.   There comes a day when the tapestry of your earthly existence is folded.
