Title: Disciplined?

For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Hebrews 12:11 ESV

Devotion: There's a Yoruba saying that says "the father disciplines the child he loves" ie if the father loves you he will correct you with the rod as well as verbal correction. To the child at that time it may seem like hatred.

A friend told me recently how a young man he met at the mall settled a bill for him. The man was a former student whose life changed positively by the teacher's chastisement. He had graduated and became successful. 

  You, children of God may feel bitter now when things seemingly go wrong but know that it may be God's way of saying come back to me.
