Title: Not you but God in you!
Philippians 2:13 KJV
[13] For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Devotion: God, the Creator of the universe created you and I and placed us on the most suitable for human life planet - earth. Some may think it is by accident but I know that it is not but by special design, for a specific purpose that we are on earth at this particular time. That I'm in Nigeria and you're in another place is by God's design for a purpose.
Let's look at the amplified Bible translation to grasp the full meaning of the verse above. Philippians 2:13 AMP says "For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure." Whatever good we are doing let us acknowledge that it is God who gives us the strength, the desire(will) to carry out that which He wants.
To the non Christian it has no meaning they just act on instinct, no coordinated effort but they work harp hazardly. Sometimes they do good, they are kind but most times they are not. We children of God enjoy the power of God in our lives. This power guides what we do, gives us the willingness, desire to carry out God's purpose. This is why sometime we have strong desire to go and donate generously to the work of God. Sometimes we have the urge to pray for someone or go out and minister to a specific person. (Several years ago I had intense urge to bring a lady to Christ, few weeks after she fell ill and died but she accepted Christ before she passed away)
Dear beloved, when you have the urge to do something good just know God is at work in you. Go out and do it immediately, when you do, do not give yourself the glory but give it to God.
