Title You are not condemned
John 3:17 NIV
[17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Devotion: A thief runs when nobody pursues him is a saying of the wise. To a person who has not given his life to Christ there is a guilty heart, such a person carries the burden of guilt. Though it is a good thing but when you have given your life to Christ. Feeling the burden of sin shows you have good conscience and that your sin was only a mistake from which you are ready to repent. Yet you know that Jesus has not come to condemn you but to correct you and safe you.
But a hardened criminal has no conscience and feels no burden, therefore he continues to sin. He kills and maims, steals without qualms and does evil things without thinking of the repercussion. Yet if perchance he hears about Christ and comes to him, his sin will be forgiven and he will not be condemned. The story of a woman caught in adultry is a good example. Jesus says in John 8:11b And Jesus said unto her, "Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."
But if after hearing about Christ, the sinner continues in his sin, he stands condemned and will face judgement. Jesus says in Luke 13:5 "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."
Therefore dear reader if you have given your life to Christ and have confessed your sin you have no reason to be afraid because Jesus Christ has atoned for your sin all you need to do is stop sinning but live right. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you unto righteousness till eternity with Christ. But if you are at still living for yourself I call upon you today to come Jesus and give your life unto him. Do not be afraid no matter the weight of your sin, God will forgive you and you'll not be condemned. In Isaiah 1:18-20 God says "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."
May God help you and me in Jesus' name, amen.
