Title: Peace in the World full of Terror.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Devotion: The world today is full of terror in various forms - banditry, kidnapping, ritual killing and armed robbery so much that people go out and are not sure of coming back safe. Even in the comfort of homes there's palpable fear because of kidnappers. The matter is worrying because government seems helpless. But there's someone who can give you peace from all these(John 14:27). The person is Jesus Christ who I plead with you to accept and hide yourself and family in Him.
Below are examples from the Bible of how God protected His own in the face of terror.
The Bible is full of powerful examples of finding peace in the midst of terror and uncertainty. One of the most comforting examples is Jesus' promise of peace to his disciples in John 14:27. He reassures them that the peace he gives is unlike anything the world can offer, telling them not to let their hearts be troubled or afraid. This verse reminds us that true peace comes from God, even when fear and uncertainty surround us.
The story of Daniel in the lion's den is another inspiring example. Despite being thrown into a den of lions, Daniel remained calm and faithful, trusting in God to save him. And miraculously, he was.
Even in prison, the apostle Paul found peace through his faith. In Philippians 4:7, he writes about the peace of God that transcends all understanding, guarding our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
King David also experienced God's peace in times of danger. In Psalm 23:4, he declares that even walking through the darkest valley, he will fear no evil because God is with him. David's trust in God brought him comfort and peace.
These examples show us that peace isn't the absence of conflict or danger, but a deep sense of trust and comfort in God's presence, even in the darkest moments.
Dear reader, I don't know what you're going through but nothing can be more dangerous than finding yourself in the lions' den. Stay calm, go on your knees and tell God through Christ and you'll come out safe in Jesus' name.
