Title: Do Not Reject Rebuke!

Text: “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.” — Revelation 3:19 (NKJV)

A loving parent corrects a child who is going astray. Rebuke, when given in love, is not meant to harm but to guide and restore. “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).

I once lived in a community where many parents rarely corrected their children and allowed them to do whatever they pleased. As time went on, school dropout rates increased, teenage pregnancy became widespread, alcoholism was common, and incidents of stealing and burglary occurred frequently. The perpetrators were often known, yet little was done to address the problem.

Eventually, the government established a police station in the community, and offenders began to face the consequences of their actions. It was then that many parents realized the importance of discipline and started correcting their children more intentionally.

This experience reminds us that society functions best when there is respect for law and order. Anyone who consistently breaks the law will eventually face its consequences. In the same way, God lovingly corrects His children so that they do not continue on a path that leads to destruction. “For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives” (Hebrews 12:6).

In our Lord Jesus Christ, divine rebuke is an expression of love, not rejection. In our focus Scripture, Jesus says that He rebukes those He loves because He desires to keep them from going astray. God’s ultimate desire is our salvation. As Scripture declares, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."(John 3:16) It is evident that God loves you and me. So when He calls us to give our lives to Christ, we should rejoice and gladly yield to that calling.

Reflection: Where do you stand? - Are you in Christ, or are you still thinking about it?Do not delay any longer. Repent today and be converted, for Jesus is standing at the door of your heart, waiting for you.
