Rejoice No Matter What

"Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Habakkuk 3:17"
Devotion : The prophet Habakkuk had walked with God for years and had come to the conclusion that sometimes things don't go in our favor for reasons best known to God. In the midst of that he said he would rejoice in the Lord, he would be joyful in the God of his salvation. As a believer in Christ Jesus, know that sometimes God allows us to be tested, so things might not go the way we expect, but that should not take away our joy in Christ. The apostle Paul in the New Testament agreed with the prophet Habakkuk and said, "Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice" (Philippians 4:4). Dear reader, any time things seem difficult for you declare the words of Habakkuk, "The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like a hind's feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places." Devotional: Late music legend – Peter Tosh sang a song with this title many years ago. It came to mind yesterday while I listened to a beautifully delivered sermon at a burial. I therefore penned this devotional on same title. Do not be deceived, at a point in your life you’ll fly away.   There comes a day when the tapestry of your earthly existence is folded. The moments of struggle, joy, triumph, and trials will all coalesce into a story complete.
