The LORD My Inheritance

"The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. Psalm 16:5"
Devotion : The psalm above shows how the Psalmist was very intimate with God. We must also ask ourselves how intimate we are with God. The Psalmist considered God as his inheritance and his cup. We are living in an era where people are amassing wealth without the fear of God; even materialism has entered into the house of God. However, there are still remnants of Christians who have made the Lord their inheritance. Are you one of them? When the Lord is your inheritance, favor will always be on you so you can boldly declare, "the lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have goodly heritage." Psalms 90:10  The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Devotional: Late music legend – Peter Tosh sang a song with this title many years ago. It came to mind yesterday while I listened to a beautifully delivered sermon at a burial. I therefore penned this devotional on same title. Do not be deceived, at a point in your life you’ll fly away.   There comes a day when the tapestry of your earthly existence is folded. The moments of struggle, joy, triumph, and trials will all coalesce into a story complete.
