Who Has the Keys of Hell and Death?
“I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” Revelation 1:18 (KJV)
A key is primarily an instrument that gives access to a place or thing. For example, if you have a key to a door, then you can open the door with it to access the room. A key is also symbolic of authority or authorization. In the opening scripture, Jesus Christ indicated that He died and resurrected and has the keys of hell and death. The implication is that He took these keys from the devil. No wonder He could not be bound by death, the last enemy of mankind (1 Corinthians 15:26–27). The good news for us, the children of God, is that because we have Jesus Christ, we have access to these keys. Thus we have authority over death and hell, and that is why we can cast out the spirit of death in the name of Jesus Christ. Dear beloved, if you are born again, you have escaped hell, so don’t allow death to scare you. Use the name of Jesus Christ to overcome any death situation in your life, whether it is your marriage, finances, business, relationships, etc. Be in charge, and the devil will be afraid of you. Hallelujah! You are an overcomer!
Prayer Point: Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for having the keys of hell and death. I use these keys today to rule over any hell and death situation in my life. Glory to your name. Amen!
