The Habits 1) Chasing a woman/man other than your wife. Examples from the Bible: a) Samson's destiny destroyed at the feet of Delilah, (Judges 16 1-end) Samson lost his life in his prime and never fully fulfilled his destiny.

b) David story of adultery with Bathsheba (2Samuel 11:3) and murder of Bathsheba's husband 

c) Solomon did not fully receive the promise of long life and his Kingdom was rent because of his many women.(1 King 11: 1-end)

  There abound many men of God today (I don't want to mention names) who did not fulfill destiny because of extramarital relationship. We often read about them in the newspapers.

2) Love of pleasure -1 Timothy 5:6 But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth. It is impossible to love life and God at same time. Night orgies, drinks, watching blue and x-rated films, drinks and the like separate you from God. Taking vacation to seek please, self abuse, stops you from effective prayers.

 3) Chasing after Riches. 1 Timothy 6:9-10 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

 Those who love money can do anything to get money including ritual money as is common among Nigerian youths in recent years. Chasing after money stops you from having time for God's word and prayers. It is not a sin to be rich but how do you get the money and how do apply the money.

 4) Chasing completeness outside of God Acts 17:28. You can not be complete outside of God. Adam was not complete until God breathed into his nostrils to give him life. Your wealth cannot give you life, that's why wealthy men still die like other peoples. Living a promiscuous life will not make you complete only life in Christ Jesus makes you complete.
