Title: God or Man Pleaser?
For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
Galatians 1:10 KJV
Devotion: The past few years has been difficult for the human race more so in the past year when the Ukraine war started and the world economy on the brink. So many people found it difficult to make ends meet especially in third world countries of Africa, South America and Asia.
The cost of daily living has risen tremendously so much that many people could not afford three meals per day. This has lead many people to do different things to survive even some confess that Jesus Christ is their lord and savior. People have started doing things that they will not normally do in order to survive example some people sell parts of their bodies to make money to feed while some people will do things to please fellow human beings just to make ends meet.
But we as children of God are not supposed to please men but please God. Let us remember that there is nothing we have that was not given to us by God. He is the ultimate provider for our needs therefore we are supposed to please him rather than to please men.
In our service to God we are to make sure we preach the undiluted word of God and accurately interpret it to the people. We must make sure that we are not out to make money out of the work of God by speaking so many deceptive words to the people so that they will be pleased with us. We are not to expect any profit from evangelism rather our aim should be to win souls for God and let God himself be our provider. Let us remember that God feeds the birds of the sky and the rodents in the bushes even as they do not plant or cultivate(Matt 6:25). Let us refrain from being men pleaser but please God.
Dearly beloved what is your take on this? Kindly share your experience with us and be blessed in Jesus name.
