Title: Resurrection.
Scripture focus: And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. (Mark 16:6 KJV)
Devotion: Jesus Christ came into the world, lived among men, and gave His life on the cross. “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God” (1 Peter 3:18). But death could not hold Him, for “He is not here; He has risen, just as He said” (Matthew 28:6). His resurrection became the turning point of history, for without it the gospel would have remained confined to Nazareth. Instead, after His ascension, the disciples were scattered, and “they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs” (Mark 16:20).
Jesus Himself explained this mystery: “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain” (John 12:24). His death and resurrection brought forth a harvest of souls, and the same principle applies to us. When we surrender our lives to Christ, we die to sin. As Paul declares, “We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead… we too may live a new life” (Romans 6:4).
This new life is not hidden; it shines forth. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14). Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our words and actions begin to proclaim Christ. We bear fruit, as Jesus said: “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples” (John 15:8). Our neighbors, families, and communities are touched by the life of Christ flowing through us.
Therefore, I urge you today: “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Give your life to Him, and you will experience resurrection—a turning into a new person who multiplies by spreading the gospel and bearing good fruit.
And remember the promise: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). This does not mean worldly riches, but a life of contentment, free from covetousness, for “godliness with contentment is great gain” (1 Timothy 6:6). You will find joy in Christ, and your lifestyle will reflect His peace.
May the power of His resurrection restore you, strengthen you, and bring you into the fullness of life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Happy Easter to you all, by His grace we will celebrate more of it in Jesus' name Amen. Spread the good news, share this devotional with your contacts.
