Title: Why Many Jews Did Not Believe in Jesus.
Scripture focus: “He came unto His own, and His own received Him not” (John 1:11) KJV
Devotion: Christianity began in biblical Israel, yet many of the people of Israel did not accept Jesus as the Messiah. The Scriptures testify that “He came unto His own, and His own received Him not” (John 1:11). The rejection of Jesus by the religious leaders of His time led to His crucifixion (Matthew 27:22–25). Even today, many in Israel do not embrace Him as Lord and Savior.
Yet, across Africa and the West, countless believers call upon the name of Jesus and experience the fulfillment of His promise: “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it” (John 14:14). Personally, whenever I pray sincerely in His name, God answers, and His teachings bring comfort, guidance, and strength to live righteously. This is the essence of a glorious life in Christ.
The Power of Belief in Christ: If Israel had accepted Jesus as the Messiah, peace might have reigned among its neighbours, for Christ Himself taught: “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God” (Matthew 5:9). Instead, wars and conflicts continue till date. Jesus did not wage wars, let the world emulate Him.
Meanwhile, Western nations that brought Christianity to Africa often fail to live by Christ’s teachings. Many exploit and dehumanize others, contrary to the command of Jesus: “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” (Matthew 22:39). Sadly, even some Pentecostal preachers misuse the pulpit for personal gain, forgetting that “the love of money is the root of all evil” (1 Timothy 6:10).
A Call to Genuine Repentance:
The truth remains: the world needs repentance and a return to Christ. “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out” (Acts 3:19). Every nation, every family, and every individual must embrace obedience to God’s Word.
It begins in our homes. When we live in obedience, we experience peace in our hearts, our communities, and ultimately across the world. Jesus declared: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you” (John 14:27). This peace is not found in politics or power but in Christ alone.
In conclusion, we note that the message is simple yet profound: return to Christ, live by His Word, and the world will find healing. “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34).
Let us choose righteousness, love, and obedience to Christ. Then we will see the fulfillment of His promise: “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).
I come in peace. Happy Easter to all who read this message. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always. Amen.
