Title: Let me have Evidence!

Scripture Reflection

Throughout the Bible, God honored those who trusted Him even when circumstances seemed impossible.

Sarah was barren and advanced in age, yet she held on to God's promise. In due time, God gave her Isaac, the child of promise. "Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son." (Genesis 18:14)

God fulfilled His promise "And the LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah as He had spoken."(Genesis 21:1)

Elizabeth endured years of barrenness, but God remembered her and gave her John the Baptist, the forerunner of Jesus Christ. "For with God nothing will be impossible."(Luke 1:37) Elizabeth rejoiced and said "The Lord has dealt with me... to take away my reproach among people."(Luke 1:25)

Hannah wept before the Lord and refused to give up. God answered her prayer and gave her Samuel, one of Israel's greatest prophets. "For this child I prayed, and the LORD has granted me my petition which I asked of Him"(1 Samuel 1:27) was Hannah's song. You too will sing in Jesus' name.

These faithful women were mocked by circumstances, but they remained steadfast. In God's perfect time, He gave them evidence that He hears and answers prayer.

Likewise, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego trusted God in impossible situations. They prayed and stood firm in faith, and God delivered them from death and disgrace. Daniel have testimony he said "My God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths, so that they have not hurt me."(Daniel 6:22)

The king himself saw the miracle of God and became the first person to see and recognize the son of God. He said "Look! ... I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire... and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."(Daniel 3:25)

Today, many believers are waiting on God for evidence of His faithfulness: a child, a job, a promotion, healing, restoration, or breakthrough. Trust in God do not waver "For the vision is yet for an appointed time... Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come." (Habakkuk 2:3) Because "Those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength." (Isaiah 40:31)

God has not changed. What He did before, He is still able to do today. "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."(Hebrews 13:8)

Pray thus:

Heavenly Father,

You are the God who gives evidence of Your faithfulness to those who trust in You. You remembered Sarah and gave her Isaac. You remembered Elizabeth and gave her John. You answered Hannah and gave her Samuel. Your Word declares that nothing is impossible with You.

Lord, I bring before You all those who are waiting on You today. Let those who desire children receive their miracle. Let those seeking jobs find favor. Let those believing for promotion be lifted up. Let the sick receive healing and the discouraged receive renewed hope.

Your Word says: "Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."(Jeremiah 33:3)

Father, let Your people have evidence of answered prayer so that their faith will be strengthened and unbelievers will see Your power and turn to You before it is too late.

I also ask for evidence in my own life, especially concerning my children. Fulfill Your purposes for them, guide them in Your ways, and let me see the fruit of my prayers concerning their lives. "I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread."(Psalm 37:25)

Lord, let my testimony bring glory to Your name and encourage others to trust You. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
