Title : Waiting renews us

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31"
Devotion : The children of God have a way of renewing their strength: waiting on the Lord is the way to get a renewed vitalized strength.
 Spending time with the Word of God and the Spirit of God in an atmosphere of prayer is waiting on the Lord; a purposeful fasting is another way to wait on the Lord. 
  In waiting we are asking God to take total control; as we do that He anoints us with new strength, new energy, new thoughts, new direction, new vision, etc.

Psalms 90:10  The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Devotional: Late music legend – Peter Tosh sang a song with this title many years ago. It came to mind yesterday while I listened to a beautifully delivered sermon at a burial. I therefore penned this devotional on same title. Do not be deceived, at a point in your life you’ll fly away.   There comes a day when the tapestry of your earthly existence is folded.
