But make sure that in your hearts you honor Christ as Lord. Always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks you about the hope you have. Be ready to give the reason for it. But do it gently and with respect.

Devotion: Can one be confident and humble at the same time? I think confidence comes along with some element of pride but not for you and me as obedient children of God. 
This is what Peter under inspiration of God tells us to do. He says have deep knowledge of God, His son Jesus Christ and be ready to defend your faith anywhere any day. A disciple must have deep knowledge, be well versed in the word of God because Satan the enemy also have knowledge of the word but negatively uses it to confuse the world.
 A deep rooted disciple cannot be confused by the half-truths being preached all over the place. He cannot be confused but he will rather disprove the lies with confidence and yet be humble. This is our calling to know and preach the truth of the word of God and yet stay humble. May Holy Spirit help us in Jesus name. Hallelujah!
