Title: Trust
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 23:4 KJV
Devotion: Psalm 20: 7 says "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God". There are lots of people out there who trust in their ability, wealth or the people they know. But many times they are disappointed just as described in the same psalm 20:8 "They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright".
The only dependable support in life is God, he always keeps his promises. He says in the book of Isaiah 41:10 "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness". For ages God kept and still keeps this promise to them who believe and trust Him.
Dear reader, when trouble comes who do you trust? Who do you run to for assistance or protection? There's a call to you today-come to God through Christ by accepting His lordship over your life. He says in Matthew 11:28 "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest". Jesus wants to give you rest, to protect you from the imminent calamity that will befall unbelievers in the latter days. Perilous times now in Nigeria but God will save us.
I counsel you to come to Jesus today, because tomorrow might be too late 2 Cor 6:2.
