Title: Why are you not consumed?

It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, Because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: Great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22‭-‬23 KJV
Devotion: In lamentations Jeremiah knew that only because God was merciful to Israel that other nations around did not destroy it. God has compassion for His people even though the people are sinners always doing things that irritate God. They often fall into idolatry, rebel against God, marry foreigners and disobey God's law.
  Maybe you and me are in same position today, regular backslider but for how long will we take God for granted? Should we because God is compassionate continue to live in sin? No, In Romans 6:15, Paul correctly says "What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid". Therefore let's return to God and live a life of total obedience. Then we'll continue to enjoy His Faithfulness and goodness towards us. May the wrath of God not be upon us in Jesus name.
