Title: Cold or Hot?

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 KJV Devotion: You're a child of God,  Congratulations but I want to ask you this question. Can you boldly say what Paul said above? That "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me"   If you have not gotten to this level, I pray for you that you will not labour in vein. It means yes you're a Christian infact born again but you belong to Laodicean church, neither cold nor hot. You have lackadaisical attitude to God and His commandments, you still do what you want when you want. It means you seldom attend fellowship, bible study, your neighbours do not see the Christ in you. It means you still ...

Title: What is the primary focus of your life?

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4 KJV  Devotion: In the world of today, there too many things we have to do daily.   A typical day of a couple is to wake up early, prepare the meal, dress the children and hurry up to work. At work many things have to be done, then rush to pick the children, visit the grocery and back home for the mom. The dad may have late business meeting, visit the club and when home surf the net or watch movies, interesting program on tv etc.  There's no time to read the Bible, I am not talking of study the bible. There is practically no time to fellowship with members during the week days. Most people go to church only on Sunday morning and from there take the children out to the amusement park or restaurant or shopping.  Dearly beloved in the midst of all these when do you ...

Title: Take to Godly wise Counsel

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: Matthew 7:24 KJV Devotion: A wise man takes to good and godly counsel but a foolish person does not. Therefore when Jesus says it, it becomes very apt to do it.    I urge everyone reading this write up to join a bible teaching church and study the words of God. In the word is wise counsel that cannot be found elsewhere, not in newspaper, not in literature and not even in philosophy because philosophy is human reasoning.    Dearly beloved, did you study your Bible today? Share your thoughts on this topic with us. Hallelujah. I am your friend Dr Joel Olanrewaju visit my page at ojaysjoel.blogspot.com for more devotionals. Shalom.

Title: Who is Your Shield?

But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; My glory, and the lifter up of mine head. Psalm 3:3 KJV Devotion: To who do you, do I run when all seems to be closing in on us? David was in dire strait, his son Absalom rose against him and wanted to take his father's (David's) throne. David did not seek help from anyone but he ran to God because he knew God was his shield and protector. David knew God will protect him from fiery darts fired by Absalom.  David was in shame that his own son rose against him but believed that God would lift up his head and take away his shame. He called God "My glory, and the lifter up of mine head". Who do you call good in such situations?   I will counsel that we take cue from David when the walls seem to collapse on us and God will save us just as He saved David.   Please share your testimony with us. Hallelujah. I am your friend Dr Joel Olanrewaju visit my page at ojaysjoel.blogspot.com for more devotionals. Shalom.

Title: I surrender, please surrender!

Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? Matthew 19:27 Devotion: I woke up singing the song below. I was preaching the word of God to some people in my dream. I urge you dear reader to give your life to Christ this day and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour. It is simple all that we run after in this world is little compared to our gain if we surrender to God. (Matt 19:29).   Jesus says in Matthew 6:33  "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things ( shelter, clothing, motor, food) shall be added unto you" if you trust him and surrender to Him, what the people run after will come to you without sweat. As for me and my household we have decided to follow Jesus. So we boldly sing the song.   Try Jesus today, it may be too late tomorrow (2Cor :6:2). Hallelujah. CAC Gospel Hymn Book Hymn 746 - All to Jesus I surrender  8.7.8.7.&.Ref. 1. All to Jes...

Title: Do Not Be Caught Off Guard!

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 1 Peter 5:8‭-‬9 KJV Devotion: In the world today is devil, the master of the "world" he goes about day and night looking for who to devour (Job 1:7). He comes stealthily(Genesis 3:1-24) with "Greek gifts"(the fruit), pleasure, wealth and promotion. He does it in a manner one will never suspect until entrapped.   One will start looking for excuse to be absent from fellowship, miss bible class and you'll fail to pray instead one will watch movies till late night. You now watch interesting program on Sunday morning and go late to Sunday school class.    Devil is only after the heart, to take it away from God, once that is achieved the devil is happy. That is when devil will show his face and begin to take back what he gave. ...

Title: Sing unto the Lord.

O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; For his mercy endureth for ever. 1 Chronicles 16:34 KJV Devotion: King David surely knew how to please God using songs to praise Him, even when he(David) was in the wrong he will sing psalms unto God. In this chapter the Ark of God was restored to Israel and placed in the tent David built for it. He offered the necessary offerings and there was joy in Israel. King David delivered the praise/worship song to Asaph and the people sang the song in appreciation of God for deliverance from the enemies.   Dearly beloved, do you appreciate God for the beautiful things he did for you. Good health that you enjoy, blessings and provisions for you, for the good children that God gave you are some of the reasons to sing praises of God.    Worship God in songs of praise this day and you will have testimony in the evening, hallelujah!    I remain your friend Dr Joel Olanrewaju, visit my page at ojaysjoel.blogspot.com for more devoti...

Title: Awesome God

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? Psalm 8:3‭-‬4 KJV Devotion: In this Song (psalm) of David, he expressed the awesomeness of God, His mightiness and creation. He told us that universe is limitless and that it was created by God. Yet God is mindful of man and takes special interest in man to the extent that omnipresent God knows our in and out.    Even though we are so small compared to other creations of God, God is ever ready to respond to our questions, petitions and guides us accordingly always. What a caring and loving God. We as children of God must Revere him and do all to please a loving and caring God.  We must recognize that God places us above other creations and behave accordingly. We must do away from animalistic behaviour and stop killing others, kidnapping, rapping, stealing and the like (Galatians 5:19-...

Title : Wisdom from Nature

"Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Proverbs 6:6" Devotion : Truly the wisdom of God is unsearchable; He has created many things for our learning. The opening scripture throws light on one of those things which God has created to teach mankind knowledge. To the sluggard or lazy person God created the ant to teach them knowledge so that by putting to practice that knowledge they can acquire wisdom for living.  The ant does not have a leader but gathers food in the harvest so that she can provide herself food in the summer. If an insect can live with this wisdom then a human being should do better. However, this is not always the case; that is why God tells the lazy to go to the ant and discern the principle behind hardwork and wealth creation. The ant is industrious and saves what she has gathered against a rainy day.  The Christian should also learn from the ant; he/she should be diligent with work, save from his/her earnings against a rainy day. Sa...

Title: Corrupt World and Christians!

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Titus 2:11‭-‬12 KJV Devotion: The world without Christ is a riotous place where the high and mighty lord it over the weak and poor. There is highest level of immorality, thuggery, arson, mass shooting and ritual killings etc etc. Some countries and churches have even legalized same sex marriage. Attempt is made to force weak countries into this, and when poor countries refuse they are sanctioned. This is the world we live in presently.  But glory to God we have grace of God through Christ therefore by confession of Christ as our Lord and Saviour we are saved. Now that we have salvation we should live soberly, above board and not partake of the evil of the unbeliever.(Titus 2:11-12)  Dearly beloved, what is your take on this?  I am your friend Dr Joel Olanrewaju, please visit m...

Title: Life Changing Story.

Matthew 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Devotion: Read the story below and be blessed.  This fine young man came into my life 5 years ago. He Walked up behind me with a hair cut that was 5 months past due and a big hole in his shirt & one sock on his foot. He tugged on the back of my shirt and said, sir can you teach me how to play football. I responded- son I teach a lot more then just how to play football. His response was OK. I then said son where is your mom and dad at football isn't cheap? He responded My mom died and I don't know where dad is, but my Auntie takes care of me. God spoke to me that second and told me to take care of him in every way. God said to me "be a Shepard". Not knowing that day The lord gave me another son who would change me and him for ever. I have never been more proud to sit at a 8th grade promoti...

Title: Jesus, the Only Solution.

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.  John 10:7‭-‬9 KJV Devotion: God is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent. God has many names including Yahweh, I Am etc. We also learn that God turned Himself to man in other to live with humans and redeem humans to Himself. This is when God became Jesus, so it is not surprising when Jesus says I AM.     In the Gospel of St John Jesus referred to Himself as I Am 7 different times. We have discussed some of these, today we see Jesus the I Am as the Door to solve your problems, help achieve your aspirations and make you succeed. Jesus is the door of the sheep whereby you can venture out to do your legitimate business, make profit and come in to use your resources for the good of mankind a...

Title: One Way Traffic

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 KJV Devotion: One way traffic ⛔ is common in many cities of the world. Such roads are narrow and in heavily populated areas of the town. Anyone caught driving against traffic is made to pay a fine. The other way is Broadway, it is very wide and accommodates several vehicles and people at the same time. The end of it is hell. On this way many types of vices are permitted in some countries no speed limit so that your journey can be very fast to Hell.  But the traffic to heaven is limited, very few vehicle and people travel on it. The road is narrow, tortuous and long. There's no short court, no turning to right or left, you must move only on this narrow way. If you turn from the pathway you pay fine, of losing your life to Hellfire. Travel on it is not easy but it is achievable if you have the right guide. The guide is Jesus Christ, once you put him on the driver's sea...

Title: Abide in Jesus Christ.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:4‭-‬5 KJV Devotion: I have seen branches of mango tree  which tear off the tree and dry off with the fruits whenever the fruits are too many. In that state the fruits become useless.   Such is a Christian who becomes full of himself and forgets to abide in Christ. It gets to a stage when church leaders become full of themselves and forget to pray like before, they stop studying the Bible like before relying mostly on past glory. At that stage the Holy Spirit departs from them unknowingly. Whenever a little test comes they stumble.  I will like you to examine yourselves this day if you still abide in Christ - do you pray regularly, study the bible daily and fellowship with other children o...

Title: Bread of Life for You.

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35 KJV Devotion: Jesus once again told the disciples and by extension tells you and I who He is. Remember in the old testament one of God's name is I AM, therefore it is not out of place for Jesus to refer to Himself as I Am. The reason is that Jesus is God turned to man so that He can redeem us unto Himself.  I am the bread of life here is not about physical food alone but about spiritual food offered free to you and me. It is our duty to actively seek this food and eat it daily. This is the word of God, we must actively study it daily and all other things to make us comfortable in life will be added to us.(Matthew 6:33)  Therefore I call on you this morning to come nearer to Jesus and be satisfied with bread of life and quench your thirst. Testimony awaits you as you do. Have a blessed day in Jesus name. Hallelujah!   I am you...

Title: A Good Leader.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. John 10:11 KJV Devotion: Let me explore the Bible for examples of good leaders. Abram was a war general and led from the front (Genesis 14:14). Moses was another leader ready to lay down his life for the people.(Exodus 14:21). David killed bear and lion that wanted to kill the his father's sheep. (1 Samuel 17:34-36). King David lead the army of Israel from the front and won several times. All these patriarchs can be called good shepherds because they led the people with fear of God and were ready to lay down their lives for the people.  Jesus Christ is also another General, leading from the front, He called Himself the Good Shepherd ready to lay down His life for the people. Jesus laid down his life and God glorify Him and took Him out of the tomb.   Today there are so many "church leaders" out there who are not ready to sacrifice their time for the church members unless for a fee. Many of them canno...

Title: Seek Jesus where He maybe Found!

And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. Mark 16:6 KJV Devotion: Praise God it is another Easter Sunday we bless God for keeping us alive. In the Easter story the women disciples - Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of Jesus, the other Mary and others  went to the tomb where Jesus was laid to anoint His body. But Jesus resurrected and was not to be found in the tomb.  The Angel of the lord told them that Jesus was not there He is out of the tomb. Why seek the living in the tomb?   In the present day many Christians or so-called Christians also seek Jesus where he is not to be found. A lot of preacher businessmen are out there deceiving a lot of people using occultic power to perform magic called miracle. People go to such places in thousands or even millions to seek Jesus but Jesus' name is hardly mentioned in such places. Many a time you can be in the program...

Title: Holy Saturday, its Significance?

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: My flesh also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; Neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Psalm 16:9‭-‬10 KJV Devotion: The Lenten period is coming to an end with Good Friday and Holy Saturday. The Holy Saturday is a day of mourning the death on the cross. But when we exercise faith we need not mourn because our Lord Jesus Christ rested from his labour of three and half years on earth. He rose from the death and become energized to start the part two of His ministry. The part two is to prepare a place for us in His father's (God's) mansion (John 14:2) and advocate (1John2:1) for us if we mistakenly sin.   If we put our trust in Him we will also rise up from our troubles and our present position will not be our last bus stop. When we get to heaven we will live in the mansion Jesus prepared for us.  Dearly beloved, rejoice because we will rise up from death both physical and spir...

Title: Will You Continue to Nail Jesus?

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 KJV Devotion: Jesus came so that you and me will live, so that we will be saved. So he suffered for our transgressions, he was shamed on the cross alongside thieves and bandits though Jesus was not a sinner or bandit.   Thank God you gave your life to Christ long time ago but now no one can differentiate between you and those who did not give their lives to Christ. Your dressing, careless talk, gossip, trip to other people's rooms says it all. You're the contractor who takes mobilization fees and never goes to site, our commonwealth has become personal wealth to you, Ha! Another Easter is here do you continue to nail Jesus? Each atrocity committed is a nail to his hands and feet. I want you to remember Jesus died so that you will not end up eternally condemned to Hell fire.    Dear reader you have another...

Title: The Last Super!

And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. Luke 22:19‭-‬20 KJV Devotion: It is yet another Easter Thursday if I can say that. In remembrance of Jesus Christ many churches will observe the Lord's last supper tonight, it is the Holy communion, it is like a convenat between you and Jesus Christ. Now you don't enter into a convenat unclean, ie no sin must be found in you. You must not also break the convenat, if you sin you break it and the consequences may not be palatable especially if you don't have time to repent before the bell tolls.     So think deeply before eating the Holy communion today. It is good to do it but before you partake in it have you examined yourself? Are you clean enough to eat it. Have you checked the Judas Iscariot in you, have you stopped...

Title: You Have Not Been Forgotten!

“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” Hebrews 6:10 (KJV) Devotion:Knowing that God is aware of your good works prevents discouragement. Delay is something that every Christian detests; it is when something we are expecting does not come at all or doesn’t happen at the expected time. Sometimes, God tests our patience by delaying our reward. Dear beloved, the Word of God is true, “For God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you demonstrated for his name by serving the saints—and by continuing to serve them” (CSB).   Beloved, your name is written on the palm of His hands and the day will come when He will reward you for the good work you are doing for Him (Isaiah 49:15-16). Keep working for Him out of love and ask for the grace to continue when you are getting discouraged so that you don’t lose your reward. Your reward is at hand, so don’...

Title: Faith Matters Most!

Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. Matthew 21:21 KJV Devotion: In anything one does in life one thing is very important - Faith. First Faith in God that He is and that He is the power, unseen Hand that controls the Universe. You must believe that God is in control of Your Situation.  The second is like the first - Faith in yourself, yes yourself that you can do that thing, you can succeed, move the literal mountain. If you have this Faith then God will make that effort of yours to bear fruit. But if you do not have faith in your ability to succeed, you will not start and there will not be anything for God to act on.   This is the reason the bible says faith without works is dead. (James 2:18; 20;) James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, ...

Title : Idle hands

"She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Proverbs 31:27" Devotion : A virtuous wife is the mistress of her home and is fully in charge of her household. She does not compromise on quality and believes that the idle hand must not eat, 2 Thessalonians 3:10.   In fact she practices leadership by example, therefore, she does not entertain idleness in her home. She demonstrates industriousness in her household for her children to emulate.  A man also must be hardworking and must provide FOOD, WEAR, SHELTER & COMFORT for members of his household. The bible says a man unable to provide for members of his household is worst than an infidel. In  1 Timothy 5:8 the bible says "But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel".  The age where only the husband works is past now both of them must work but the woman is an helper and can only supp...

Title: Be Wary of Praise Singers.

took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. John 12:13 KJV. Devotion: They hailed Jesus, sang His praises called Him king etc. A few days later they persecuted Jesus and delivered Him to the jailer while  they preferred a bandit to be released.(John 18:40)   The situation is not different in the present day when bandits, rebels and even known thieves are recognized by the governments and kings. They are elected into offices, given chieftancy titles etc while decent people are sneered at, rejected at elections and unrecognized.  We, disciples of Jesus Christ should be wary of the people who sing our praises and gossip behind us. We must not be found wanting in any situation and must not seek after human praises. Human praises are a trap and will lead to sinful acts.  Dearly beloved, please share your views on this with us. I am your friend Dr Joel Olanrewaju visit my pa...

Title: Not Everything is Expedient!

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 KJV Devotion: The Israelites who left Egypt perished in the wilderness because of their numerous sins. After baptism unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea they rebelled against God. They made graven image of calf and called it God, they fornicate with gods of the people they came across in the wilderness. They sacrificed to idols and ate food offered to idols and perished.  Nevertheless their children, Caleb and Joshua got to the promised land. Today, we are children of Israel by grace because we have Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we are not under the law. But not everything is expedient to do or eat especially when a neighbour whose faith is not strong is present. We must allow our conscience to guide us especially as we relate with people of the world. Do not go on to ask questions that will offend your conscience or that of your neighbour.(1Cor 10: 25-27). But if your cons...
