Title: A Good Leader.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. John 10:11 KJV
Devotion: Let me explore the Bible for examples of good leaders. Abram was a war general and led from the front (Genesis 14:14). Moses was another leader ready to lay down his life for the people.(Exodus 14:21). David killed bear and lion that wanted to kill the his father's sheep. (1 Samuel 17:34-36). King David lead the army of Israel from the front and won several times. All these patriarchs can be called good shepherds because they led the people with fear of God and were ready to lay down their lives for the people.
Jesus Christ is also another General, leading from the front, He called Himself the Good Shepherd ready to lay down His life for the people. Jesus laid down his life and God glorify Him and took Him out of the tomb.
Today there are so many "church leaders" out there who are not ready to sacrifice their time for the church members unless for a fee. Many of them cannot keep the vigil with you. Many of them will not call you if you did not attend service unless you are a big time donor. These later day leaders cannot be called good shepherds because most of them cannot lay down their lives for the sheep under them. They prefer to enjoy the best of life at the expense of church members. The church must buy them fleet of luxury cars, lodge in 5 star hotels when invited for a program.
Dearly beloved, ask yourself this question - am I a good shepherd? Take a bold step of faith and correct the situation before it is too late. Share your experience with us. Hallelujah.
