Colossians 3:19  Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

Devotion: The verse Colossians 3:19 serves as a guiding principle for marital relationships, emphasizing the importance of love and kindness from husbands towards their wives. It advises husbands to cultivate a loving environment, free from bitterness, which can be corrosive to the relationship. This verse underscores the significance of mutual respect and understanding in marriage.
  In Ephesians 5:25, husbands are similarly exhorted to love their wives, with the added dimension of sacrificial love: "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her." This reinforces the idea that a husband's love for his wife should be selfless and enduring.
  Furthermore, 1 Peter 3:7 advises husbands to live with their wives in an understanding way, showing honor and respect: "Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers." This highlights the importance of mutual respect and consideration in nurturing a healthy marital relationship.
  These verses collectively emphasize the importance of love, respect, and understanding in marriage, providing a foundation for strong, supportive relationships.

Devotional: Late music legend – Peter Tosh sang a song with this title many years ago. It came to mind yesterday while I listened to a beautifully delivered sermon at a burial. I therefore penned this devotional on same title. Do not be deceived, at a point in your life you’ll fly away.   There comes a day when the tapestry of your earthly existence is folded.
