Title: Refuse to Lose

"How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?" Matthew 18:12 (KJV)
Devotional Reflection: Our Lord Jesus Christ—the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6)—once again demonstrates His boundless compassion and relentless pursuit of redemption. This parable isn’t just about sheep; it’s about you. It’s about every believer who dares to refuse defeat in the face of loss.
Jesus poses a powerful question: Wouldn’t a shepherd risk the wilderness to recover one lost sheep? The answer reflects the very heart of God—a refusal to accept loss without pursuit, a determination to reclaim what is His.
What have you lost? Is it time, relationships, purpose, hope? Whatever it is, Christ assures that recovery is possible—if you are willing to seek, He is ready to strengthen you. He offers grace not only to restore what’s missing but also to equip you for the journey of restoration.
In the context of soul-winning, this parable becomes a rallying call to the Church and individual believers. The lost souls of this world—those wandering in confusion and pain—can be found. The ninety-nine must not settle while one remains astray. Evangelism is not merely a duty; it’s a demonstration of divine love in action.
However, the Bible makes a clear distinction: Some, whose hearts are hardened and follow the path of destruction, may reject the light (John 8:44). But we must not be discouraged. For every soul that still draws breath, there is hope—and the harvest is always worth the labor.

Takeaway.
Dearly beloved, this gospel is a reminder to never give up—on others or on yourself. God does not accept defeat. Neither should you.
