Title: Are you waiting on God, reexamine your request and be patient.

“Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?” Matthew 7:9 (KJV)

Devotion: The LORD God Almighty possesses infinite wisdom—far beyond what any human being can fathom. His responses to our prayers are shaped not only by His perfect understanding but also by His boundless love. Just as a loving earthly father would never hand his child something harmful when asked for something good, so our Heavenly Father gives us what is best—even when we don’t understand His ways.
Sometimes, we may feel unheard in prayer or begin to question whether God is listening. Yet Scripture reassures us:
“Before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”Isaiah 65:24.
God is not indifferent to your cries. He hears you, knows what you need before you even speak, and more importantly, He knows what would harm you. His wisdom doesn’t always grant what we ask, especially when our requests conflict with His loving will.
“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” James 4:3. This verse reminds us to evaluate the motives behind our prayers. Are we asking for things that align with God's Word and purpose—or simply for our own comfort and desires?
“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Psalm 37:4. When we align our hearts with God’s, our desires begin to reflect His perfect plan.
So, if you’re waiting on an answer, don’t lose heart. Examine your request in light of Scripture. If it’s consistent with God’s promises, then, wait patiently and believe, for He is faithful to perform His Word. “For the vision is yet for an appointed time…though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:3.
As children of God, we are called to study His Word so that our prayers are anchored in truth. Let your faith be rooted in knowledge, and your patience in trust. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5–6.

Dear beloved, if your prayers seem unanswered—what will you do next? Will you trust His timing and wisdom? Share your thoughts and journey. Let’s grow together in faith.
