Title: Keys to a Successful Life.
Anchor Scripture:“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)
Devotional:
True success—both in the physical and spiritual realms—ultimately comes from God. While human effort, intelligence, and connections may play a role, it is the Lord who determines the outcome of our lives. “The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong... but time and chance happen to them all.”Ecclesiastes 9:11
God has promised to bless the work of our hands (Deuteronomy 28:12), but not all who work hard experience success. Why? Because success is not just about effort—it’s about alignment with God’s purpose, timing, and placement. Doing the right work, in the right place, at the right time is key. “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1
You may choose where to live or what career to pursue, but if it’s not in line with your divine assignment, frustration may follow. That’s why we sometimes see highly educated professionals struggle while others with less formal training thrive. It’s not always about credentials—it’s about calling.
Consider Isaac: during a time of famine, God instructed him not to flee to Egypt but to remain in Gerar. Isaac obeyed, and “in that same year he reaped a hundredfold, and the Lord blessed him.” Genesis 26:2–3, 12
To succeed, you need divine direction:
- What to do — “Trust in the Lord with all your heart... and He shall direct your paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6
- Where to live — Genesis 26:2–3
- Whom to marry — “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers...” — 2 Corinthians 6:14
- Wisdom to make decisions — “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God...” — James 1:5
- Obedience in giving — “Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase.” — Proverbs 3:9
God orchestrates divine connections. Just as Joseph met Pharaoh’s cupbearer in prison—a meeting that eventually led to his promotion—God can position you at the right place at the right time (Genesis 40:1–14; 41:14).
But remember: success is not measured by wealth alone. The true measure lies in how you impact others—your neighbors, the poor, your community—and how many lives you lead to Christ. “What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” — Mark 8:36
The highest form of success is making heaven. That journey begins when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. “For what is born of God overcomes the world.” — 1 John 5:4
Prayer:
Lord, help me to walk in alignment with Your will. Show me where to go, what to do, and how to live a life that pleases You. May my success not just be in material things, but in fulfilling my divine purpose. Amen.
