Title: Place of Comfort.
Scripture Focus: Exodus 15:27 — “And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.”
Elim was a divine oasis in the desert — a place of refreshment, shade, and rest after hardship. It reminds us that God reserves places of comfort for His obedient children. The desert seasons of life are not permanent; obedience leads us to wells of water and palm trees of shade.
The Blessing of Obedience:
- Provision: Just as Israel found twelve wells, God provides abundantly for those who walk in His ways.
- Rest: Seventy palm trees symbolize shade and relief. Obedience brings peace even in the midst of trials.
- Guidance: Israel didn’t stumble upon Elim; God led them there. Obedience keeps us aligned with His direction.
Other Promises for the Obedient
- Deuteronomy 28:1-14 — Blessings in the city and field, in work and family, for those who obey.
- Isaiah 1:19 — “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.”
- John 14:23 — Jesus promises His presence to those who obey His word.
- James 1:25 — The obedient doer of the Word is blessed in all he does.
Reflection: When you find yourself in a desert place — dry, weary, and longing for relief — ask: Am I walking in obedience? The oasis of Elim is not for the rebellious but for those who trust and follow God’s leading. Obedience is the key that unlocks divine comfort.
Prayer
“Lord, teach me to walk in obedience. Lead me to the wells of Your provision and the shade of Your peace. May my life reflect trust in You, so that even in the desert, I find comfort in Your promises.”
Testimony: I did step my feet on Elim, the place was a really good and cool place to be.The wells were still there. The palms and
brooks from which I drank are there till date. We should aspire to be in such places of comfort in real life by living for God.
