Title: Cold or Hot?

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 KJV Devotion: You're a child of God,  Congratulations but I want to ask you this question. Can you boldly say what Paul said above? That "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me"   If you have not gotten to this level, I pray for you that you will not labour in vein. It means yes you're a Christian infact born again but you belong to Laodicean church, neither cold nor hot. You have lackadaisical attitude to God and His commandments, you still do what you want when you want. It means you seldom attend fellowship, bible study, your neighbours do not see the Christ in you. It means you still ...

Title: What is the primary focus of your life?

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4 KJV  Devotion: In the world of today, there too many things we have to do daily.   A typical day of a couple is to wake up early, prepare the meal, dress the children and hurry up to work. At work many things have to be done, then rush to pick the children, visit the grocery and back home for the mom. The dad may have late business meeting, visit the club and when home surf the net or watch movies, interesting program on tv etc.  There's no time to read the Bible, I am not talking of study the bible. There is practically no time to fellowship with members during the week days. Most people go to church only on Sunday morning and from there take the children out to the amusement park or restaurant or shopping.  Dearly beloved in the midst of all these when do you ...

Title: Take to Godly wise Counsel

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: Matthew 7:24 KJV Devotion: A wise man takes to good and godly counsel but a foolish person does not. Therefore when Jesus says it, it becomes very apt to do it.    I urge everyone reading this write up to join a bible teaching church and study the words of God. In the word is wise counsel that cannot be found elsewhere, not in newspaper, not in literature and not even in philosophy because philosophy is human reasoning.    Dearly beloved, did you study your Bible today? Share your thoughts on this topic with us. Hallelujah. I am your friend Dr Joel Olanrewaju visit my page at ojaysjoel.blogspot.com for more devotionals. Shalom.

Title: Who is Your Shield?

But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; My glory, and the lifter up of mine head. Psalm 3:3 KJV Devotion: To who do you, do I run when all seems to be closing in on us? David was in dire strait, his son Absalom rose against him and wanted to take his father's (David's) throne. David did not seek help from anyone but he ran to God because he knew God was his shield and protector. David knew God will protect him from fiery darts fired by Absalom.  David was in shame that his own son rose against him but believed that God would lift up his head and take away his shame. He called God "My glory, and the lifter up of mine head". Who do you call good in such situations?   I will counsel that we take cue from David when the walls seem to collapse on us and God will save us just as He saved David.   Please share your testimony with us. Hallelujah. I am your friend Dr Joel Olanrewaju visit my page at ojaysjoel.blogspot.com for more devotionals. Shalom.

Title: I surrender, please surrender!

Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? Matthew 19:27 Devotion: I woke up singing the song below. I was preaching the word of God to some people in my dream. I urge you dear reader to give your life to Christ this day and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour. It is simple all that we run after in this world is little compared to our gain if we surrender to God. (Matt 19:29).   Jesus says in Matthew 6:33  "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things ( shelter, clothing, motor, food) shall be added unto you" if you trust him and surrender to Him, what the people run after will come to you without sweat. As for me and my household we have decided to follow Jesus. So we boldly sing the song.   Try Jesus today, it may be too late tomorrow (2Cor :6:2). Hallelujah. Title: Do Not Be Caught Off Guard!

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 1 Peter 5:8‭-‬9 KJV Devotion: In the world today is devil, the master of the "world" he goes about day and night looking for who to devour (Job 1:7). He comes stealthily(Genesis 3:1-24) with "Greek gifts"(the fruit), pleasure, wealth and promotion. He does it in a manner one will never suspect until entrapped.   One will start looking for excuse to be absent from fellowship, miss bible class and you'll fail to pray instead one will watch movies till late night. You now watch interesting program on Sunday morning and go late to Sunday school class.    Devil is only after the heart, to take it away from God, once that is achieved the devil is happy. That is when devil will show his face and begin to take back what he gave. ...

Title: Sing unto the Lord.

O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; For his mercy endureth for ever. 1 Chronicles 16:34 KJV Devotion: King David surely knew how to please God using songs to praise Him, even when he(David) was in the wrong he will sing psalms unto God. In this chapter the Ark of God was restored to Israel and placed in the tent David built for it. He offered the necessary offerings and there was joy in Israel. King David delivered the praise/worship song to Asaph and the people sang the song in appreciation of God for deliverance from the enemies.   Dearly beloved, do you appreciate God for the beautiful things he did for you. Good health that you enjoy, blessings and provisions for you, for the good children that God gave you are some of the reasons to sing praises of God.    Worship God in songs of praise this day and you will have testimony in the evening, hallelujah!    I remain your friend Dr Joel Olanrewaju, visit my page at ojaysjoel.blogspot.com for more devoti...
