Title: Humble yourself

"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 1 Peter 5:6"
Devotion : Jesus indeed is the author and finisher of our faith; He humbled himself unto the father and even unto death on the cross. God witnessed this, resurrected Him, and gave Him a name which is above every name in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. 
  King David humbled himself in service to his father, Jesse, and God chose and anointed him king over Israel. Moses humbled himself and was appointed by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt.
  Dear reader remember it is better to be humble so that God will promote you "A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit." Proverbs 29:23, rather than be proud and be demoted  "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall", Proverbs 16:18.
  I am sure you don't want God to break you "And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass" Leviticus 26:19 .

Title: When your time shall be over, you'll fly away.

Psalms 90:10  The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Devotional: Late music legend – Peter Tosh sang a song with this title many years ago. It came to mind yesterday while I listened to a beautifully delivered sermon at a burial. I therefore penned this devotional on same title. Do not be deceived, at a point in your life you’ll fly away.   There comes a day when the tapestry of your earthly existence is folded. The moments of struggle, joy, triumph, and trials will all coalesce into a story complete.
