Title: Who do you love?

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world— the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life —is not from the Father but is from the world.
1 John 2:15‭-‬16 ESV.
DEVOTION: There are many definitions of love, I found this attractive - strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties eg maternal love for a child. This is yet another - unselfish loyal and benevolent (see BENEVOLENT sense 1a) concern for the good of another: such as fatherly concern of God for humankind.
 These two definitions demonstrate affection that is not based on sex or selfish interest. Both are from the superior eg a mother or father to the children. This is the love God has for you and me. 
  Should we not rather reciprocate the love instead of worldly love which is after worldly/material gains. Worldly love distances us from God, it leads to selfishness, greediness and all types of sin. Worldly love is the root cause of disobedience and the troubles the come upon many.
Dear reader if God loves us so much and gave us is begotten son (John 3:16) why not love Him back.

Title: When your time shall be over, you'll fly away.

Psalms 90:10  The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Devotional: Late music legend – Peter Tosh sang a song with this title many years ago. It came to mind yesterday while I listened to a beautifully delivered sermon at a burial. I therefore penned this devotional on same title. Do not be deceived, at a point in your life you’ll fly away.   There comes a day when the tapestry of your earthly existence is folded.
