Title : Are you persecuted or punished

Devotion: Good morning dear readers,  from the verse above Jesus  explains to us the meaning of persecution  in contrast to  punishment for misdeed. Persecution is when you're made to suffer because of your belief in Jesus Christ, living right. It is  common place to be denied promotion,  be posted to remote countryside because of one's belief especially in our society. 
I once lived in a society where I cannot openly practice my religion but I  can suffer  the noise of other religious practice.
If a thief is caught and sentenced he should not say he was persecuted. When you suffer hardship  for your sin do not count it as persecution but if you  prevent corruption in the office or anywhere  and you're made to suffer, rejoice because  you have reward. If your  family  forsake you because of your righteous stand against any sinful act,  rejoice for you're blessed.

Devotional: Late music legend – Peter Tosh sang a song with this title many years ago. It came to mind yesterday while I listened to a beautifully delivered sermon at a burial.
