Title: Chameleon!
These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind, and the ferret, and the CHAMELEON and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole. Leviticus 11:29-30 KJV
DEVOTION: A spiritual chameleon is a person who pretends to be something they are not. A spiritual chameleon changes their color to present the image of what they think you want to see. You will find them in any church, ministry, or singles group.
There are many types of them in the church of God today, the link between the different types of spiritual chameleon is exploitation for personal gain.
The fellowship chameleon - has little or no true desire for a deeper spiritual relationship. He's a pretender, he cheats his clients and workers but shows piety before the pastor.
The leadership chameleon likes being at the forefront, he uses his oratory and administrative gift to manipulate the people and keeps changing the narrative. He urges others to give for Christ but he will not give. This is because he has no real “servant’s heart”, he likes to lead just for self aggrandisement more than having a close relationship with the Lord.
The financial chameleon attends church to make business deals, to advertise their business. I noticed a trend in the church I attend - buying and selling goes on there, thrift collection and all sorts there. The people forgot that Jesus threw out the money changers, overturned their tables from the temple. Matthew 21:12 "And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves".
The romantic chameleon uses all tricks, shows himself in a different color to gain the love of the opposite sex.
My question to you this morning is are you a chameleon? It will be better to change your ways rather than continue in the evil way.
Do you have concerns, share them with us. Hallelujah!
