Title: A Fruitful Start to May.
Scripture focus: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it” (Habakkuk 2:2) KJV.
Devotion: As we step into the month of May, we pause to reflect on how far God has brought us. Four months of the year are already behind us, and today marks the beginning of the fifth. Some have seen great physical and spiritual progress, while others may feel they are still searching for direction.
The difference often lies in planning and vision. “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it” (Habakkuk 2:2). Without clear goals, life drifts aimlessly. But it is not too late to begin afresh. As the Yoruba saying goes, “The sun above is still enough to dry your clothes.” With eight months remaining, there is still time to plan, act, and succeed.
The true secret of success is found in Scripture: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). When we put God first, everything else falls into place. Alongside seeking His kingdom, we are called to “watch and pray” (Matthew 26:41), combining diligence with devotion.
Start this month with thanksgiving: “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Commit your plans to Him: “Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established” (Proverbs 16:3). Remember, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” (Genesis 18:14). No situation is beyond His redemption when we invite Him in.
May this new month bring you clarity, strength, and fruitfulness. “The Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not beneath” (Deuteronomy 28:13).
