Title: Reason to Thank God.

Devotion: My journey has been marked by grace. I was blessed to excel academically, graduating with some of the best grades in school and university. By God’s favor, I received the Vice Chancellor’s Best Student Award in Part 4, 5, and 6.
When I returned home, there was nobody to mentor me, so I chose to serve my country the best way I knew—working in rural communities. There, I saved countless lives, performed complex surgeries, and treated difficult cases. Yet, because the population I served was poor, there was little material reward. Still, I remembered the words of Jesus: “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).
After 21 years of graduation, my younger brother encouraged me to pursue residency. By God’s mercy, I sat for the foundation examination and passed at first sitting. I completed residency even before some fresh graduates who started alongside me. Truly, “The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong… but time and chance happen to them all” (Ecclesiastes 9:11).
This morning I started lamenting that I did not become a Professor. But a senior colleague reminded me to look back and count my blessings. Many of my classmates had fallen by the way, some are no more, and others look up to me for guidance. Then I realized: I have every reason to thank God. “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits” (Psalm 103:2).
Even the simple gift of waking up daily in good health is enough reason to praise Him. “This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).
Since surrendering my life to Christ, I can boldly testify that His grace has carried me. “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). I urge you to give your life to Christ today, for “Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).
Life may not always be rosy, but when you walk with Christ, you will experience a joy that cannot be explained. “In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11). Try Jesus today—He satisfies.
