Title: Let Your Money Work for You: Business from a Biblical Point of View.
Scripture Foundation
- “The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.” — Proverbs 21:5
- “Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days.” — Ecclesiastes 11:1
- “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.’” — Matthew 25:21
Devotion: God has given us resources—time, talents, and money—not to be buried or wasted, but to be multiplied for His glory. The parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14–30) shows us that God expects us to steward wisely what He places in our hands. The servant who invested his talents doubled them, while the one who hid his talent lost even what he had. This teaches us that money, when managed with diligence and faith, can grow and serve a greater purpose.
Letting your money work for you is not about greed or selfish gain; it is about aligning your financial practices with biblical principles:
- Diligence and Planning: Proverbs 21:5 reminds us that careful planning leads to abundance. Business decisions should be prayerfully considered, not rushed.
- Investment and Patience: Ecclesiastes 11:1 encourages us to sow generously, trusting God for the harvest in due time. Wise investments may take time to bear fruit, but patience brings reward.
- Faithful Stewardship: Matthew 25:21 shows that God honors faithfulness. When we handle small resources well, He entrusts us with greater responsibility.
When we allow money to work for us—through savings, investments, and business ventures—we are not only securing provision for our families but also creating opportunities to bless others and advance God’s kingdom. Wealth becomes a tool for generosity, missions, and service.
Reflection:
- Am I managing my finances with diligence and wisdom, or am I careless with what God has entrusted to me?
- Do I see money as a servant for kingdom purposes, or as a master that controls me?
- How can I use my business or investments to glorify God and bless others?
Prayer: Lord, teach me to be a faithful steward of the resources You have entrusted to me. Help me to plan diligently, invest wisely, and use my wealth for Your glory. May my business and finances be a testimony of Your provision and a channel of blessing to others. Amen.
