Title: Ask for Wisdom!

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
James 1:5 KJV
Devotion: To navigate life successfully a person needs wisdom and not just wisdom but God given wisdom. Apostle James knew these and was aware of the fact that only God can give wisdom liberally without attached string.
 Worldly wisdom is incomplete and deceptive. It leeds to failure and disappointment unlike God's wisdom that is everlasting and does not disappoint.
 Initially Solomon received wisdom from God and was quite successful but later he departed from God and applied human wisdom for protection against external aggression.He forgot that it was God who protected him, he married foreign women and started to worship their gods so that the foreign powers will not attack Israel. (1King 11: 3-4) The promise of God on him for long life was cut short.

Psalms 90:10  The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Devotional: Late music legend – Peter Tosh sang a song with this title many years ago. It came to mind yesterday while I listened to a beautifully delivered sermon at a burial. I therefore penned this devotional on same title. Do not be deceived, at a point in your life you’ll fly away.   There comes a day when the tapestry of your earthly existence is folded.
