Title: Have you decided?

Devotion: I can remember we used to sing this song - I have decided to follow Jesus, I have decided to follow Jesus, I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back no turning back. 
 I will now ask was it true? did we actually decide to follow Jesus? Why did I ask this question the reason is that most people proclaim that they have decided to follow Jesus but when you look into their life you cannot say they are followers of Christ. They still do the things they used to do. Some people still drink excessively some still womanize, some keep malice while some still tell lies and do all sorts of things yet they will tell you they are born again.
  If you are born again it means you have decided to follow Christ; you must 1 know the specific date you give your life to Christ, 2 have a break from all your former habits so much so that people will see it and know that you are a different person.  3The Holy Spirit must guide and lead you in everything that you do so much that people will see Christ in you. 
  Dearly beloved when you have given your life to Christ you become a new person,  you overcome yourself and live by the laws of God. It is only then that you have denied yourself and carry your Cross to follow Jesus without looking back. The lord help you as do in Jesus name.

Devotional: Late music legend – Peter Tosh sang a song with this title many years ago. It came to mind yesterday while I listened to a beautifully delivered sermon at a burial.
